I used to own a recording studio in the 80s and 90s and with big cats coming in all the time telling me how they are going to be bigger than the Beatles or more famous than Led Zeppelin. I would nod my head yes and tell them I knew record companies that they can send their music, which was true, and they would park their asses for a week at my studio and spend 1000+ and buy a 1000 cassettes, and that’s the last I’ve ever hear of them.

Write 5-8 songs and record them with hired guns. Get them released and promote it.
Don’t worry about gigging yet because there’ll be no gig for anyone for at least another 6 months. You can worry about looking for members when the plague is over.
