i'm probably gonna get stick for this, but malcom young. I've never seen him do anything other than grade 1 chords! good tone on the donnington dvd though.

I must agree with you ...

I used to love Slash's playing ( during any Guns period ) .... now anything I ever hear is very bland

With Page (for me) it's not his playing that speaks...it's his writing.

I'll pick Ritchie Sambora...I've never liked his tone, vibrato, phrasing, nothing.

all of those guys are teh suck anyways.

give me Setzer, Manzanera, May, Bratta, DiMartini, Atkins, Knopfler, etc any day of the fuckin' week.

a good melodic sense PLUS technical ability trumps supposed "soul" every time. IMO of course.
