I’ve made quite a few posts on here about it. Recommended it to you in threads you’ve made looking for boosts. It’s been the best one to me of what I’ve tried for tightness, attack or more modern flavored tones. Much better than other protones and others I’ve had in the same ballpark: Fortin 33, Grind, Standout, Precision Drive, Airis’s, Duality DX, Mudkiller, Highwind Direwolf, KSR Eros and more. No need to waste time with those ones imo. Possible you may find it clanky, but I really like it. Still sounds toy-like or pedal-like honestly compared to my actual Klon, but so do the other 99% of pedals. I kept it for the tight, modern flavor that the Klon doesn’t do. Cool pedal

I’ve had over 140 boost type pedals over the years, kept just 4 and 2 rack PQ’s

I ordered one. Pro Tone is having a big sale on their website. Cheaper new from them, than used on Reverb! I'm gonna hit the front end of the Fireball 25, and had $72 credit at Pitfall audio from rewards points on the Fireball and bought a Wampler Equator para-EQ.

Cool, I got mine a bit cheaper too. Not sure how it’ll be with that amp, but probably would work well I’d predict. Love it with my c+, Recto’s and Naylor. Honesty haven’t liked any Wampler pedals I’ve had, but haven’t tried that one

You guys did better than me. I paid $180 plus shipping and taxes for a “slightly blemished” one from them, but whatever. Weren’t those deals at the time. I sold one of my standouts for almost twice the price these are going for now
 
My hands down favorite is my PLX Bion Boost. It's a treble booster. You can set it very conservatively so that it adds just a little bit of mojo that just sounds like a natural extension of them amp or a bit more extreme for super tight awesomeness. You gotta use it first in your signal chain though cause it doesn't like a buffered pedal in front of it. Sounds awesome in front of another OD pedal too for stacking.

I like the SD1 more than I like TS types. I really liked the VFE Dragon but only in front of a crunchy to Med high gain amp to turn it into a fire breather. Not so much in front of an already high gain amp.
Plus the Bion boosts are built by one guy and I think $115 brand new.
 
DOD Grey Spec or anything in that vein is also a forgotten workhorse that just sounds right. Norum just went back to his DOD for his latest work because it works. All the OD's he has used and what do ya know, back to the basics.

I have a duality dx and the ultrahype VFE clone from Hennings.
And all the Gary Holt boosts,all the way back to the HBE doomsday pedal.

Never use them...or even tried them.

WTF is wrong with me?
OK,the Gary Holt stuff is understandable, I'm an insane fanboy.
But why buy the others if I never use boosts?
I think I have a problem.
It's because Santa never brought me a slinky for Christmas.....

I really dig the MXR Wylde Overdrive these days. Kinda like a beefier SD-1. Really like the attack it has. It's also less low-middy than a standard TS (kinda like an SD-1 is too).
 
I have tons of them, some $35 old piece of shit provides me hours of entertainment and playing time thinking I need to try it with all my different amps and guitars searching for that magical combo
