I’m not going to post and pretend that this is an enormous outrage or travesty but to me it is silly to continue to go around and call this a reunion instead of a tribute.

Great lead singers such as Phil do have a huge impact on a band’s sound no doubt, (i.e Van Halen/Roth) but in the case of Pantera, it was the Abbots that contributed the most to their sound, no offense to Rex. You’ll never duplicate that.

I don’t agree. I feel Phil was integral. But equally were the brothers.

This would be like VH without Eddie and Alex. But even at least then there was DLR and Sammy. When you think Pantera, there is no other singer, even though there were the pre Phil days.

But I don’t dispute the weirdness of this. A one year tribute, half reunion trip down memory lane is cool. I hope they don’t keep parading this around for too long and pretend it is Pantera anymore though.
