alright joel...how much ya want for it? :D

Just set the Pearce G2R up in ebay in your favorite searches and it will automatically e-mail you if one comes up. That's what I do, the case companies for amps can drive you crazy though as they send you an e-mail for those too. Pearce shouldn't have many cases though.

i look for e bay gear to drool over atleast 3-4 times a week, i'll just have remember go make that part of my usual round

ok....now I'm interested as well.....

That link to "Q" is pretty cool, good sounding amp for sure, I'd like to try one.

I respectfully disagree and I'm a tube guy all the way.
My good friend has used this amp for every one of the "Q" shows and recordings(Link above) and I can tell you that when it's up loud it gives you all the color and overtones that a Tube poweramp would. You would probably only lose in the warmth department.
If it's that good, you would think they would be selling for more than 400-600 bucks and would be collectors items. Thanks but no thanks. I will enjoy my Diezel after going through a Pearce for 2 years. It's worth the money to check one out but still...Are you guys trying to create the next amp craze?

no im just looking into an Amp that i have an interest in
i hear great things about it for a solidstate
and was just wondering what a few players and Amp Builders could do to it to make it Better in some area's

you know they say if you really want to know the true Voiceing of an
Amp you like Crank that Mid Full up
seems to be the case with this one and everyone like's it
but i like a little room for other things too without all that Mid

so what do you think it really needs to grab people's attention More !

For a SS it IS the best high gain amp I have heard. Cleans were good for Jazz- SS style. If you can find one for that price-do it. Maybe throw a tube overdrive on the front end..I don't know. It has a ton of high gain but I just found it lacking dynamics compared to what else I had in the end. You might love it for your style of playing. I guess there are not many out there so you could sell it for what price you buy it.

there's a lot of gear out there that sells way below what it should be worth based on performance

Hopefully their build quality is better than Randall's...

I hear ya, Simbosa. The Pearce does not "feel" 100% like a tube head, but sometime record it and see for yourself how damn close it gets to a world class tube head... Bogner/ Diezel etc. You will not believe your ears.
It's an amazing machine for a SS amp and I would rather have it with me at a gig than MANY tubes amps we all discuss here.
Ya, I knwo, it's not a Diezel or an Xtcy, but holy crap! It's an SS head and it kills ALL other SS amps I've ever heard, played, owned. period.

This is true.. The amp is way waaay underrated. It was the first real attempt and modeling a tube amp and I dont think anyone's done a better job since..
The poweramp is plently dynamic to me. It sounds better cranked up than the MESA's I had..No joke

So I am curious if Gaijun ever got one? I would be interested to hear it again after 16 years.

naw...Pearce is in Buffalo NY...I tried his amps out in the late 80's cause Alan was using them for a smooth 'fusion' sound...I could not get anything out of the amp resembling tube response/feel or decent 'rock' distortion...I talked to Pearce on the phone for a couple of hours trying to see if he could 'adjust' the lead channel to a more open and complex distortion...nope, nice guy and a decent amp, easily the best solid state amp for good tone but it pales in comparison to the upper to boutique class tube amps...compare them side by side with a good tube amp and you will get the same sort of differences as when comparing a Line 6 amp and a tube amp...No offense but I thought they sucked for R&R...fusion maybe but not R&R.

wow... Now, I'd agree with you the first few weeks I owned the Pearce G2R, but when I figured out how many ways it could be tweaked I'd have to strongly disagree. It has SO MANY tones in it that it's just silly.

One of my favorite amps.
Certainly one of the most underated around.
I think the Pearce gets a Jazz/fusion stigma because Holdsworth and Andy Summers used them alot but I can certainly get some over the top metal tones out of it quite easily.
As a matter of fact I use the G2r as my main backup to my Framus Cobra because they sound Very similar in the voicing and Gain.
I really like how the Lead Channel allows you to center in on the mids through a parametric control in addition to the Mid control.
If you want to hear the amp in a heavier application here's a link to my Brother's band. The Guitar player tracked in at with a pearce G2r at Zing studio's in westfield MA.
http://thisisq.com
Go to MEDIA and then MP3. there's always 3 tunes in rotation up there

Wow.  That guitar sound doesn't a lot of the fizziness of solid state, and it certainly sounds thick to my ears. I would've really loved to hear some solo playing with the G2r though. I constantly have an ebay saved search for a pearce g2r, and i've had a number of really good deals slip by my fingers because of bad timing and shortages of funds.

I spent a few hours with it and a Les Paul with stock pups... I tweaked it every way possible...sounded VERY synthetic compared to a Mesa Boogie Quad sitting next to it. Alan ran 2 of em in stereo and had a ton of stereo chorus and delay...he can make a mediocre amp sound good...next few times I saw him he had tube amps...and never went back. The Pearce stage didnt last long with him either.
