:rawk: Welcome Braddah!! Nice to see you in this zone as opposed to the Bog-zone... WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!!! It's so great when we see cool cats having Herbert babies and Einstein babies, and Schmidts and, well, those quirky little weirdo kids named VH4's and all - but ya, they're INCREDIBLE amps. I will eventually own a Herbert - bottom line. I own a VH4S right now and I've had several V's in my session space for 3 years now - and I'm STILL getting new tones from them... They're so responsive to tubes, cabs, guitars, but the main thing is - and this is a MUST - you HAVE to spend some time with the MV at about 1pm, and the channel volume anywhere past 2pm - the amp just starts to BREATH FIRE man!!!!!!!!

I thought I knew what a Diezel sounded like just from studio work. It wasn't until I got it into a space big enough and dampened enough to let 'er loose that I really started to understand "Diezel tone". Sorta like have a 400+hp beautiful Italian sportscar and you're driving it around the subdivision, versus, getting it on a twisting perfect pavement winding mountain/valley road and just punching it to redline. THAT'S MY DIEZEL!!!!!!

Welcome aboard
V.

Thanks V.

What´s the serial number of the Herbert ?

Peter the serial number is 001/1131.

Thanks!!
Wow, that is pretty new.

I did not know how to read the serial number for date. I do not it still has the external bias and tube fault LED's. Maybe one of the last ones that was built this way?

Peter is this a good one?

Now.....this is going to cause some flames....
but you have to admit it smashes the Wizard.

I will say that it is a different beast than the Wizard. They both are at the top of the amp chains for what they do. The Herbert is more what I need for what I am trying to accomplish, as well as it is much more versatile IMHO. At the end of the day it is not a hard decision I would pick the Diezel every time!!

I will throw some rig pictures up tonight here and in the picture section. Maybe some clips by this weekend. And hopefully some decent live video in the very near future. I play Christian hard rock, so I am sure the Herbert is going to go over well in the youth centers!!

Pillar is actually from my Church, so the Churches around here are used to Splawns. Maybe after Pillar hears my Herbert they will swap to Diezels

BTW, the above comment was not derogatory towards Splawns, they are great amps!!! No negativity meant!!

Thats funny..We just played a show with Pillar last weekend. Ive been telling Noah he needs to Play a diezel BAD! Then again ive told just about every Christian rock guitarist out there that diezel is the way to go

Seems like most the heavier Christian bands go the Splawn route. I think the Quick Rod is a great amp, very dry and has some nice percussive type tones. A lot of people say it is the brown sound, but I have never heard that in the two I owned. The EQ on it was not bad, but it could not compete with the Wizard for those tones IMHO. Now the Herbert, well this is what I have been wanting for quite some time. And funny thing is I always thought Diezels would not be my type of amp, for some reason not even sure why.

Maybe in the next few years as we get out to play more often with some of these bands like Disciple, Pillar, Fireflight they will hear the Diezel madness and make some changes. However I know that each player has a tone they want and who am I to tell them I have what they need. I only know what I need, and Peter and his Herbert invention is just the thing!!!!

Word.
Im gonna change all the Christian guitar players minds;)
hahah.. funny because all the producers are using them. Rob Graves, Rob Hawkins, even skillet used a diezel on their last album. Everytime we play with Disciple, Pillar, Kutless, etc we talk gear. Im trying to make converts out of them all:)
Splawn really is the trend tho.. at the moment...And i dont really get it..

BTW..whats your bands name? Have we played together before?

I believe it should be a 2009. Mine is 1040 and is a late 2008 IIRC.

Rob we have not played together before, we are located in Oklahoma and currently practicing in Kansas. After almost 2 years of playing with some great friends and doing mostly covers things separated and the singer, myself and my old drummer are writing our own material and pushing forward to be playing mid summer and getting our website up, facebook and myspace pages, etc...

Our name which has not been finalized is Novitas (to be restored, rebuilt. to rise up, as in being new) latin and fits what I feel is what our beliefs are.

It would be cool if we got to play at a venue together. We are hoping to be playing most of the places in this area all the Christian Bands play. Some small and some medium size indoor/outdoor venues.

BTW I have heard some of your stuff and I dig it, you are very talented. Good luck in all you do!!
