Pickup suggestions for a Strat: Hot and sizzly Ceramic firebreather?

Alright... Super 2 sounds OK! Surprisingly higher output than I expected. I think it's because the guitar is super loud acoustically, and also, the bridge pickup is further away from the bridge itself than on my other guitars. So I guess it's sorta like a neck pickup, just not quite, in that strings's vibration is wider the further away from the anchor point.

I will say, though... fuck 250K pots, LOL. I expected this guitar to be way brighter.

It's a powerful pickup. Super 2 output is 400, Super Distortion is 435. It was first marketed as a neck pickup to pair up with the Super Distortion, but it's a killer bridge pickup as well.

Yeah, I just didn't expected it to keep up with the 500T in my Les Paul. That one's almost twice the DCR and has a triple ceramic magnet.

How do you like it since you've installed it?
TBH, I expected it to be more in your face. But the 250K pot really holds it back. That, and the fact that the bridge pickup is really far away from the bridge in this pickguard, which I intended to change anyway.

I'm going to try rewiring it to 500K this weekend, and I'll probably be ordering a new pickguard in the next few days too.

Yeah, a 500K pot should really open it up. A 1 Meg pot will open it up even more. The new pickguard with the bridge pickup set closer to the bridge will help, too.

If the Super 2 doesn't do what you want, I've found DiMarzio's tech support to be first rate. They are VERY helpful. https://www.dimarzio.com/tech-support

Yeah, I'd like to go DiMarzio for this one. All of my other guitars have Duncans or Gibson pickups.

With both the new guard and 500k pots factored-in to the equation,,,,,, I would probably do a regular Super-D.

Duncan Distortion
Duncan Screamin’ Demon (might be an a5, i’m not sure tbh)
Duncan Nazgul
BKP Miracle Man

You can replace the 250k volume pot with 500k and use a resistor to reduce what the single coil pickups are hitting to around 250k. Mojotone sells a pre-wired HSS harness that’s already set up for this but you could certainly save a few bucks just swapping a few components on your current wiring setup.

I was also thinking maybe I could get one of those DiMarzio pickups that have the unbalanced coils and turn the hotter coil towards the bridge too.

Not only that, but the Screamin' Demon aint ceramic and it AIN'T a fire-breather. It's low/medium output if anything...it *is* kinda sizzly though...

Not a bad idea at all. I'd say Drop Sonic then.

Left field: How about Nazgul? I know I said no Duncans, but I don't think I've tried the Nazgul for extended periods of time, and it has a killer killer killer killer name.

Nazgul is more of a mid-humper in-your-face EQ. I'd say it is the opposite of wide and scooped, but it does breath fire and have some sizzle.
