Do you really need to write fake words to try and hurt me?
What a fucking idiot.
Yo, butthurted Kullo, not only you got made a fool today, but you're also getting ignored from now on.
Bye bye Kullito.

Update, it seems Michael has decided to issue a refund through pp. If anyone decides to order just go in knowing you could be dealing with delays and unanswered inquiries. At least in my case he has resolved the issue albeit a bit late.
This is pretty much what I expected to happen. The guy is not a scammer. Yeah it's shitty customer service but he isn't out to rob people.

I think it's a bit ridiculous how many people immediately pull out the pitchforks on here after seeing a case of a lack of response. Comparing him to Mark Cameron is absolutely ridiculous.

Exactly. Had he responded and said it will be another month or two, that would have been okay in my book. At least provide some kind of update.
Totally this. I have an 84 Charvel that I’m expecting back any week now…it’s about 6 weeks behind the original estimate (restoration/refinish) but every step of the way I’ve had messages regarding the progress.

Ok guys thanks for the words, advice, support. After escalating with PayPal this morning, Michael just messaged me and said he issued a refund. PayPal says it’s pending. I would rather have had the amp than the money, but it does at least seem he is following through with a resolution. He may have had every intention of getting it done at some point, i guess I’m just not built for dealing that way. I’ll update the opening post to reflect this and just say if someone does order just make sure you know going in, that it could be a longer process than anticipated.

Glad you got your money back. Who knows what would happen if you got the amp and it had an issue. Also, would you enjoy the amp after this ordeal?

I hate that he gives Aussie builders a bad name - he's the only local company I've heard of that regularly treats customers poorly. There's a small but growing pedal, guitar and amp scene here and MI is a sore exception to the great work going on.

Good that you're getting your money back. Fuck that amp. I'm sure there are other amps local to you that sound as good or even better than the MI one.

He may not be a scammer in the Mark Cameron league of scammers but the fact that you had to escalate the matter to PayPal just for him of get of his ass is bad enough to me.

I'm very curious, what are some of the other great Australian amps, guitars or pedals? Despite his very poor customer service, I think the Megalith Beta that I bought used is an awesome sounding amp

Amps - Achillies, Lucas Miles, Ulbrick, Reynolds, Barret, Barwatt, Valvetone, Ledford.
Gtrs - Cillia, Crossley, Grubisa, Mallia, Ormsby, Gilet, Fenech, Clingan.
I'm not a pedal guy...

Probably not much that would interested the crowd here - lots of tweed clones, strats/tele etc, quite traditional and conservative but very high quality in general.

Cool, never heard of any of those. I like any amp with high quality tone. Have you tried any Etherial or Oni guitars? They’re also both Australian

No don't know those guys, I'll have to check them out!

They're more for metal, but seem cool, especially the Etherial. Some of his guitars have carbon fiber bodies and also sometimes steel fretboards

Sorry to learn of your issues. I did not read all the way through. I’m just glad to have some catch up time. Best regards.

My motto is:

Customer Service Is Only Second To Tone.

Maton is Australian too, right? Always heard great shit about those

Yep. Pretty nice acoustics but not Martin level in terms of tone. Workmanship is very solid and reliable though, it's probably the woods - they use a lot of local materials.

VERY happy owner of a Beta and a Gamma here. Beta was custom ordered from Michael and did take much longer than advertised. And like everyone said, his communication was spotty, when he did communicate he told me his shop was recovering from a flood. When I started using words like "refund" he came back with "ur amp will be done at the end of the week" and indeed came thru. Plus shipping time from Australia to Arizona was fairly quick (around 5 days). So def not a great customer service experience BUT.....goddammit if the Beta ain't one of the best sounding, tightest, meanest amps I own and I have an impressive stable of gear. If this guy was in the states, he would be slaughtering the competition. Not a fan boy, just spittin' truth. So its prob a good idea to avoid if u don't have the stomach to wade thru the bullshit, but if u do, you will be rewarded with an insanely good piece that will prob go up in value and status
