His house is still standing. I think the damage should be fairly minimal. Maybe light flooding in the lanai and some roof tiles missing and a messy pool. I'm thankful bro. I should know more tomorrow. Tentatively planning on rolling out sunday. My old FL bassist and very good friend died tuesday, just got word this a.m so it looks like instead of getting to see him I will attending his memorial service while I'm there.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Be blessed.☦️
Sorry about your friend brother. I’m glad your family is all safe.

Thanks Floyd. Like you, he wasn't too lazy to lug a refrigerator to the gig to get that monster tone. We rehearsed weekly for 3 years and missed maybe one week the whole time. Did a ton of gigs in central FL. Lotta good memories with that guy.

I see you are back. How did it go?

It went well. We helped my sister and my parents and had a great time doing it. I made some great new friends on the ride too. We had beers and whiskey and talked long into the night about every subject and no hangovers either. I slept on the floor of my sister's bombed out home, the other guys used cots. We had a lot of fun but I have been tired since I had to gig saturday. I finally caught up on some rest this afternoon.

The islands are pretty heavily damaged. 8 foot piles of trash in everyone's front yard. All their personal belongings, gone. It's gonna be weeks and months before any semblance of normalcy returns to people living in those homes. My cousins house really got it since she lost their seawall and the yard started collapsing into the intercoastal. The pool may fall in next, then the house. They need a barge to get the work done, were quoted 100,000 bucks, and all the barges are hired out for the next 3 weeks or longer. So you can pray for my cousin that her house isn't completely destroyed. She was just moving in from CA and this has her rethinking her move. I tell people it's a part of beach life but I mostly just get blank stares from people who haven't been there long enough, or are too materialistically oriented to understand what that means. Thanks for asking 311.

Now you're back here for that $22.50

I sure hope things work out for them and they can get back to normal soon, rather than later. I can’t even imagine being in that situation.
My thoughts have been with my grandson and his wife; their first baby came more than a month early, weighed 4lbs 1oz and is tiny. A week later and he is still in natal intensive care, they are sleeping in the hospital in provided beds to stay close to him and no idea yet when they can take him home. I'm praying for a healthy outcome and a return to normalcy.

I don’t pray but I’m sending positive vibrations your way.

I'll definitely keep you guys in my prayers. May your great grandson grow to be a big strong healthy man with a good heart and a love for the Lord. Blessings to you and the entire 84superchamp family. Thanks for sharing your needs here brother. This thread is a helpful reminder.

Also came to my attention tonight that another rig talk member has a loved one with some issues getting health coverage to deal with a medical condition. It broke my heart hearing what kind of difficulty this is creating for them. We should definitely keep said member in our thoughts and prayers, that their loved one might find a respite from the pain and suffering, that the Lord would provide a way to afford a needed surgery.

It's been a week of losses. Attended the funeral of my old bassist last weds, that was tough. An old church friend of mine lost his sister at 52 years old a couple days ago. She was a great person. And my best friend who died years ago had a neighbor who I was somewhat acquainted with, and was well loved by many, passed away at 49. My prayer lists for the sick and the dead have been overfilled lately.

I love all you guys and hope you are well. If you got someone you care about, make sure and tell them before you lose the option.

@84superchamp how are things going with your grandson's child?

You know what? This is sort of an answered prayer to find that that forum actually allows spiritual stuff to be discussed. TGP was fun but is so limited in some ways because if someone asks for help, my hands are tied from telling them the truth, otherwise I'll get banned or whatever their rules are. Scott Peterson from what I understand is a Christian... but maybe he is out-numbed by other owners and directors? but what did Christ tell us to do after he rose from the grave? We shouldn't have any excuses.

Anyway, glad to find this (depite the terrible smilies, sorry, it's just an expression tool) :gethim:

Is this Off Topic Central a new thing? because I don't remember seeing it earlier.

Baby is still in natal intensive care, no one can even see him except mom & dad BUT he's gaining weight and getting bigger.
I never researched Ronald McDonald House but they have a facility next to the hospital, grandson and wife are staying there free of charge and minutes away from the little guy. So thankful for that. And thanks for asking VB.

It (OTC) was like a welcoming port in a storm for me....if you're thinking it, say it! Beautiful.

It disappeared for a while in 2020/2021 but when I was asked if I'd like to help out the first thing I did after saying yes is get OTC reinstated. That was in August 2021.

It used to be just one sub-forum before it disappeared so maybe that's why you didn't notice it if you happen to have looked prior to that.

Yeah, cool!! Thanks for your work to get it laid out like it is. It's nice to have different forums. We should probably have a class to explain how the Polls work. People seem confused. ?

Thanks man; the sub-forums were my idea and I took my best guess as to how to divide them up.

There hasn't been a compelling need to add or remove any since day dot and I haven't received a single complaint that this one or that should be removed or added, which is great IMHO 'cause I value consistency very-highly.

Tell you what 'though, going through and moving a shit-tonne of threads into appropriate categories was a Helluva-lot of work. There was only one category / list all those years so you can imagine the laborious nature of the task.

Again, thank you for thanking me bud.

Yer the best MM!
When I go into a bar for a drink these days, I raise my glass and yell "here's to Monkey Man!" but people just look at me funny.
