None of that precludes the Earth being a sphere. Nor does it preclude the vacuum of space. It's just a description of what you see in poetic terms in the language of the day.

So if it is round and not a ball there has to be an edge. Where is the edge ? Why has no one ever seen it ?

The "debunking Eric Dubay's 200 claims of flat earth" is much more entertaining because they just use circular arguments and label it "cognitive bias" when they can't find a scientific way to disprove his claims.

The problem they have "debunking" that video is there are a bunch more ISS bloopers out there to contend with so even if they are right about that one being faked, they still have a bunch of other stuff to address. Therefore, to me, it's still fake.

I have no idea really, but if I was younger and maybe lived in a different age I'd head to Antarctica to see what I could see. All the amateur balloon vids from like 70k (maybe higher) feet just show vast (flat) expanses. I really don't know what we live on, or much about the realm we inhabit.

I’m semi preoccupied with the VP debate at the moment. It’s much more interesting than the presidential one was. JD Vance seems to be committing career suicide working with Trump though. Dude comes off as intelligent when it’s not spitting out Trump drivel

I don’t even know what we are talking about in this thread anymore. I also don’t know what special gravity is.

According to the flat earth types there is an ice wall that ball earthers call the south pole. Conspiracy further fueled by disallowing private exploration of that region, at least, to my knowledge.

Yeah, ultimately I'm agnostic. But I don't really think it would be sphere. I could be wrong. The circumnavigation stuff gets tricky too, depending on what you believe magnetic north is. Recently I've heard it's about to shift btw.

It has shifted before . It will again. I don't even see a possible way you can go around the earth traveling in one direction without it being a sphere. It's physically impossible.
