It's been three weeks since Steve's passing. I still expect to come here, see a thread he responded to, someone he bitch slapped on FB, or a rant on the current social/political goofiness in the USA. I guess I didn't realize, besides being a long time client, that we interacted so much on RT, FB and Messenger on different subjects.

RIP Steve King, you were respected and well liked worldwide!

Jim

Well said Jim!
RIP Steve K

Such horrible news and very shocking. Cancer sucks. RIP Steve. You'll be missed.

Reading back I see a couple of comments that stick out. As I did not know him personally, just on forums with a few small discussions. What stands out the most to me was the no BS policy in the classifieds and his sense of humor. I think it was Steve who did the Hitler vids? Not sure but I thought it was and those were seriously one of the funniest things I have seen on my 10 years of Rig Talk.

RIP

Last weekend I was in the hospital after having open heart surgery to remove my pericardium at Vanderbilt University from "Constrictive Pericarditis".. Steve messaged my wife to see "how I was doing" after the surgery.. Steve messaged me Monday while I was in recovery to see "how I was doing".. Then he told me he had two months to live.. "That's who Steve really was"..... more then just the lengendary tone connoisseur he was..

Man, I literally haven't posted in several years, but I'm very sorry to hear about Steve. And I'm sorry to hear what you've gone through but am glad you were able to message with him and are recovering. I wish you and also his family and friends the best.

A head shell and pedalboard I made for Steve when I was still doing woodworking.

Talked to Steve several times over the years. So many great conversations - a real down to earth dude who made anyone feel like a friend you've known for years. I will relish our talks about gear and the things we sold each other. He'd always throw something extra in or otherwise make things better. That was Steve - it was about you. He wanted to make sure things were right for you.

Rock In Peace Steve King!

That pedalboard is pure class man. It almost looks to nice to even use.

Rig Talk and the guitar gear community has lost a legend and a truly great guy. RIP Steve.

Fucking brilliant!!!! Without question one of the greatest things ever posted on RT!!! RIP Steve King. Forever RT royalty. :worship:

I bought a lot of Steve. Became good friends I think. First encounter was swapping a Hermansson modded Laney PA (which now are in the US, I think) with his ESP KH2 Vintage. I still have a ESP Horizon CS bought of him. He had the BEST taste in gear, bikes, food, beers. Beautiful wife too.

So many amps and guitars went between us. And pedals.

Think of him still a lot.

I guess I missed this clip that Steve did. That was righteously funny!

It really is. I almost fell out of my chair the first time I saw it and even to this day, no matter how many times I have seen it i still cannot control myself. Absolutely amazing work he did on that.
