yea that rumor started a while back and then when mustaine wrote his second book it came to be that chris poland had written some melodies for some of the rust solos that marty got access to

I don't necessarily believe Dave had a hand in most solos. I bet he hummed a note or two and was in a mood in the interview where he said it.
