That`s pretty high. Of the Rectos that came through my house, the G and the MW were around 460 and the F`s were around 450.Mine is 470v. That’s not too far off my 72 SuperTrem…which is at 490.

When played loud enough I think its low end is actually pretty decent compared to most amps, just not compared to other Recto’s lol. It is tighter & more modern for sure vs all other Recto’s including my Rev C. It does work well in lower tuning like you said. I still mostly stick to standard myself thoughThe Badlander has the recto grind, but without the big low end going on, it's tight. I think it's more suited for downtuning.
Agreed on all. I don’t know much about recording yet, but when used in my friend’s reamp it seemed to work well in the mix pretty easilyI have a MW and Badlander. I use the Badlander in my band, it's a simpler amp that I plug straight into, the mids sit in a great spot, the DI out is convenient. I don't have to fuck with it much at all. Just does the thing and gets me through the gig, plus mine is the rack chassis so I leave it racked and it can' get bumped around without worry. The MW sounds great too but doesn't have the mids without a boost, always benefits of low and high pass filters, and it's one of those amps that one day will sound fantastic, the next day with the same settings I have to tweak something a bit. Just needs a little more TLC to sit right where I want it. Badlander more or less sounds like they tried to make an amp that sounds like if you blended a Recto and 2203 in the studio. It doesn't totally sound like either one, but has both flavors swirled in to some degree. They traded the extended lows and highs of the Recto for more midrange push, but it's not as biting as a 2203 either, kinda more all around balanced.
And where are the pricing on these at current marked value? Both C and D?C and D are closer together. I group C and D in one group and F and G in the other.
C is 5-7k these days. And where are the pricing on these at current marked value? Both C and D?
My estimate is:And where are the pricing on these at current marked value? Both C and D?
Did you actually had offers in that region for your C or is it what you would shoot for when selling?C is 5-7k these days.
It’s kinda like how I never liked apples much (or other certain fruits) until trying a fresh picked one off the tree. You never seem to see naysayers about those for whatever reason, but for guitar gear it’s like all the time lolSame! When I got my first Recto I hated it and never considered one again until I played the RevC or D from a friend.
That’s what I have, but honestly I prefer still the look of chrome tread plate, black chassis, more classic to me, but it seems I’m in the minority thereRev C... chrome chassis.
90s tremoverb is one of the best mesa I have come across.Multi Watt or old Tremoverb combo are the best options now that won’t cost a bomb.
I love a Rev F but the prices don’t really make sense when you can just get a MW. Rev G is solid too if the price is good - I’d just say a MW is no worse of an amp and you’ll get more features and newer components.
I don’t really see the point in a Rev C/<500 Rectifier, they sound cool in their own right but it’s more of a party trick to me and not really the rectifier sound I most associate with. Cool for bragging rights/collector quality
Yeah both Triple Rev F’s I’ve owned had that C mod. I actually like its red ch on it in some ways a little more than my actual Rev C, but I only use orange and for that it got closer to my C’s orange than as a stock F, but still not like the real C’s orange ch. The green ch though smokes the C & D haha. That seems to be the one thing that improved on revisions. It can also get a surprisingly ballsy hard rock sound with the gain dimed on the green ch with a slight boostJust for the record, everyone who wants a C.... you can send your rev F to Mike B and he can turn it into a C. At least he use to do it for people. Maybe he stopped?
This is the way. I’ll add MW in terms of “cheap and available” being the priorityMy Hermanson dual rectifier gives me what I need there . If you don’t go that option I’d take c then f
It’s unique but worth every centThis is the way. I’ll add MW in terms of “cheap and available” being the priority
They can be quite good, but IME the Revision C & D’s are in another league (or 2)90s tremoverb is one of the best mesa I have come across.
I paid 5 for mine; and I’m getting 5 for it soon. I know another that sold for just over 6. They are C+ pricing now.Did you actually had offers in that region for your C or is it what you would shoot for when selling?
It’s actually a super easy mod to do…the guys on Grailtone figured it out. Change the gain/presence pots to higher values, clip/bypass 1 LDR, and bypass a few more resistors and that’s most of it. Made a 2 channel triple sound much better.Just for the record, everyone who wants a C.... you can send your rev F to Mike B and he can turn it into a C. At least he use to do it for people. wow, just makes me think I should have grabbed the RevD that was for sale lately. The guy knew it was an old Recto but had no clue about Revisions. I could have had it for something like 2.5K. Instead I told him, what he hasI paid 5 for mine; and I’m getting 5 for it soon. I know another that sold for just over 6. They are C+ pricing now.
Here's what I measured when it was here.Mine is 470v. That’s not too far off my 72 SuperTrem…which is at 490.
