Reverb pedal that isnt "techy"

I don't tend to use spring style reverb.
To me, that goes hand in hand with a clean Fender.
I suggest you try it. It can be used very subtly or full on beach mode. It's simple and easy to use.

Watching Leon Todd's video now on the Mercury 7, I thought this was more for that ambient music, but really sounds great and can be really subtle.
If you take the time to learn the unit.....it's incredible. Some of the fattest, most lush reverb your ears will hear on a clean tone. The only caveat I have is, like every digital reverb I've ever tried, it sucks with OD and adds noticeable harshness to the top end. I've experienced that with every digital reverb I have ever tried. But the parameters REALLY let you fine tune even small doses of reverb. Like reflection times, amount of bass reflected vs amount of treble reflected. I rarely use reverb so this is my fun box, and man, it delivers big time whether just as a reverb or as a shimmer.

It's my favorite pedal I've ever owned aside from just the usual quality OD.

Not so sure about spring into a dirty amp?
If you want one of the very best reverb-reverb with genuine tubes and springs, get an RI Fender tank. Unless you don't like the preamping effect the mix and dwell controls let you set it exactly so you don't deal with the usual Fender amp too much reverb/not enough reverb problem that I have had with my Twins. It won't make you think "this sounds like springs" it just sounds like that Meris, fat, lush, rich except it doesn't go to shit with OD, it just enhances it even more. BADASS my man.

I used the RI with a big Marshall plexi and GB loaded 4x12 and man, that was the sound. I just got sick of carrying what amounted to a second amp to every show, plus having a couple 4-5 foot jumpers to hook it to the half stack and my other pedals. I should've never let it go but my wife got hit in a car accident and was injured and we needed money so.....

Never really thought going this route?

I bet its great!
Unfortunately, in your post you don't mention what it is and the pic doesn't show.

lol. It's a Strymon Flint.

For the record, I personally don't really go for spring reverb. Spring reverb is a very specific kind of effect which can be cool but I tend to stick with more natural or ambient reverbs.

This may not be a popular suggestion, but I have a Flamma FS02 Reverb pedal that my GF got me for xmas last year. I put it on my wish list because I needed a reverb pedal and didn't want to spend a lot to start with. It was meant as a temporary solution until I figured out what I really wanted.

Turns out, it's a fantastic pedal. Super versatile and easy to use, and it has 7 memory slots for presets.

Like I said, it was supposed to be a temporary solution, but I haven't felt the need to replace it yet after a year and a half.

For whatever its worth .... I searched forever for a Analog Reverb pedal ( I don't / won't use anything with a digital signal path )

I even considered the Dr.Z .... but at almost 1000 bucks ... I didn't need authentic spring reverb that bad .....

even considered building my own Fender reverb unit Clone ..... but I wanted something that would fit on my pedalboard .

I ended up with the GameChanger Audio Light Pedal ...... authentic Analog Spring Reverb with some bells and whistles which are just to friggin cool ...

you can easily set it up just to do simple Spring reverb .... but with the optical side of things... some really cool reverb textures can be had ..

It's changed my opinions on some of my amps ..... kept me from straight out selling my non reverb Bogner Shiva 20th ...

and with my JCM800/JEL it's priceless in the loop ...

I had purchased a used Flint from GC a while back, but something wasnt right with it, and something sounded like it was loose within the pedal itself.
Half of the used pedals I buy from there are janky and returned.
Never did try that one again, probably should, seems to have a lot of fans...

I'm glad you chimed in.
I really try to keep everything I use as "analog" as possible.
But then, my Memory Lane Jr has digital front end...

Didn't build one yourself though?

Sorry about the crappy experience there, but yeah I’d absolutely recommend the Flint to anybody looking for reverb just because it sounds so good. The fact that its controls are so simple and that you can save/recall patches with MIDI (but you can completely the MIDI function altogether if you want) are just bonuses.

I think the Flint's reverb is good enough that I don’t even feel bad about ignoring the pedal's tremolo side.

when I run into something that checks all the boxes for me it's a lot easier for me to buy than to build ( plus I like to buy pedals too ) .... especially on more complex circuits like Delays and Reverbs ....
IMO ... the really cool stuff that's out now has a pure analog signal path .... but is digitally controlled ( awesome for tap tempo ) .... like the Light Pedal .
for instance .... my two delays on my board are the Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail Deluxe ... and an older JHS Panther . BBD Chip driven delays but digitally controlled .
My new favorite pedal company is Flower Pedals ...... I've got their Autowah / envelope filter called Hosta ... has a real deal Fazel in it just like a real wah but is digitally controlled .... it's insanely good .
I also picked up the Dandelion which is a Tremolo ...... I never thought I'd need / want a Tremolo pedal till I heard theirs .

Vapor Trail is a great delay!
Never heard of Flower Pedals, will take a look.
