Holy $hit...Easy Mickey! I completely forgot about them. They had the whole LA Sleaze Rock thing going on ala GnR, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, etc. I saw them a few times. They weren't bad at what they did but it was certainly unoriginal.
Fast forward to the Martini Bros and they were a bit ahead of their time with the whole "punkabilly" thing. Yeah, it had been done before (The Cramps, Social D) but it definitely wasn't a "movement" yet like it became after Rev Horton Heat popularized it.

very cool.

Rupe from the west, you from central and myself from the east.gaining lotsa ground on this state.your obviously coming from an early 80s refernece point.i started following PA scene in mid 80s.i missed the impact of the Sharks.Paris was before my time and never got into Poison.

i remember seeing Kix for the first time on a show on the USA network called Night Flight.came on fri and sat nights.(pre-dating rhonda shears up all night show.)i look on youtube for clips from that but never found any.

Backstreet kids.i have no recollection.

i do remember a band called Backstreet Law.i never actually seen them, but am familiar w/ their adds in PA musician.i can't remember what years they were playing.

i'm also thinking of a band with MICKEY in the title.Easy Mickey maybe.i can't remember.i never seen them but was intrigued by them in my late teen yrs.they now evolved into the Martini Bros. and i have no idea what they sound like.

I grew up in Camp Hill. And you're right, it was Easy Mickey. After I moved out of the area, my brother went on to play drums with them. I think he was one of a few they had. Man, I didn't know they were that far-reaching. Easy Mickey's singer, Mike Moppin, designed one of Kix' album covers ("Show Business" I think). I'm not sure who all else was in EM, but the two brothers in the Martini Bros. are Ace and Deuce. I think one of them was in EM. Both were huge into the rockabilly thing and the only time I ever caught the band, they struck me as a much more snottier, punkier version of the Stray Cats. And the Stray Cats comparison was more about how those two looked. The music was much more early Social Distortion-ish...at least the one time I caught them. Are they still around?

u from CH?have you ever heard of a record label called Red Stream.its an underground label started by a guy from CH,Pat.was also the drummer in Satans Bake Sale and Exit 13,which also featured a guy name Bill who went on to start Relapse Records and now runs Last House on the Left Records.later on Dan Lilker(nuclear assault, anthrax, brutal truth)played in Exit 13.

About Easy Mickey, like i said,i never seen them other than PA musician but i was into that whole Motley,GNR, sleazy ,vampire, gypsy thing in the 80's early 90s.
it was Deuce that was in EM.pretty sure he was the bassist.i found an EZ Mickey myspace pg last night.still holds up to me.
Martini Bros.myspace seems active.no shows booked tho.

I left CH in '85, and don't remember hearing about any of those labels, sorry. A lot of that must have transpired after my time. I caught the Martini Bros. at Gullifty's in CH on one of my rare visits back to the area. Caught the Sharks on one of their reunion shows in Lancaster few years back too, which was bittersweet. That was the last time I saw them before Sam Lugar passed away.

Gonna' break out the Kix albums myself too...good idea!

Another PA band who got some airplay...anyone remember Jimmy Harnen/Synch ("Where Are You Now?") out of Wilkes Barre?
