The kind of music they play while you're on Death Row, waiting for your lethal injection.

i remember one of my first times getting really super baked when i was 15 or so and hearing Fearless for the first time, im not sure ive ever had a more chill few minutes in my life.

Grumpy old man
Nobody wants a Roger version DSotM
Doubt it would see the light of day anyway
PF was best with Roger, but I'll take non-Waters PF any day over solo Waters. I also prefer solo Gilmour, fwiw.
He's such a miserable fuk

I saw Roger a few months ago. The performance and show was pretty strong. His vocal performance on a few songs from the early years was impressive considering his age. Alice Cooper is the other guy about that age that can still do the early stuff strong.

When I saw Roger live a few months ago he didn't waste much time during the performance talking about politics like he did years ago. There was a few mentions of the "peace" concept. In that he felt talking was better than killing.

Roger Waters as musician and songwriter while with Pink Floyd = brilliant !
Roger Water as a person = biggest douche on earth.
No wonder why they kicked his whinny ass out of the band.

I never liked Pink Floyd. I like Pink Floyd about as much as I like the Doors. Growing up I thought they sucked, save for a few tunes. I thought Gilmore played lead guitar like he had a load in his pants.

Lol

I actually love both bands but I have to be in the right mood

Agree about Alice. I've seen him three times since 2005 and when I took my kid to see him in 2019, she said it was the best show she's ever seen and she has seen KISS, Machine Gun Kelly, Kanye, and a bunch of others. Alice Cooper was like a start to finish concert and horror movie all packed into one.

A lot of time aging stars cannot leave their legacy alone. This would be like Paul McCartney re-recording Sgt Pepper. He is smart enough to never do it. Don't mess with greatness and let it stand the test of time by itself.
Plus he know’s he “cheated” with psychedelics.
I bet it’s painful for him to revisit those songs.
And no Lennon.

At McCartney’s concert, maybe 7-8 years ago; he did a rendition of Mr.Kite from sgt P album. Was really really good to pull that off live-convoluted waaay psychedelic song. He said this was one of the first times his band did it. Then he talked about making amends with John but he was shot to death before it could happen.. needless to say, this was a live version that he covered of Lennon’s, not re-recorded, AND no anger or animosity…. Only regret that their friendship was strained and too late to rebuild.

In 2016 I saw live just Gilmour and his band at Madison Square Garden and it may have been the best concert I’ve been to so far. Amazing tone as well (he was using Alessandro’s and a black strat). Lotta stoners there lol and the guy to my right was really fat and took up almost half of my own seat lol

From what I heard, he left the band thinking that they would collapse... but instead, they continued on contrary to his prediction. Then he got pissed and tried to take his toys back, and lost.

did roger write any of the countless classic solos??
No, but his presence likely pushed him to the edge and made Gilmour dig DEEP.
He was the boss man.
I’d love to see our raddest shredder here,
with his guitar and CCV battle the wits RW.
Oh, I bet your going to tell him what to do aren’t you?
I played in a band Fine Shimi, with a RW persona bass player type dude.
I wanted to backhand him constantly with my
headstock, so I get the clutches Gilmour faced.

WHAT,-DO YOU WANT RODGER TO PLAY
DEATH METAL?

What the fuck would you do?
Remember, “it”has to gross millions & millions of dollars to post up a tour.
I’m sure the most successful guitarist in RigTalk history can pull that.

I actually played in a band that covered DSOM from start to finish with 8 band members
at Skipper’s Smokehouse in sunny Tampa Fl
for 2 weekends straight.
I did all the rhythm intricate bits, the cool shit.
I dissected that entire record.

Man.. The second guitar solo in Money,
David Gilmour be like “Fuck you Rodger Waters!”
HOLY HELL does he make that guitar SING.
-A big part of him getting up under it like that
was his answer to Rodger Waters telling him what to do like a jobber’-

This song is insane.
So much texture & tones with
the grind in life flavor of the vocal…
CRAZY GOOD guitar solo’s and the
smokin’ doobies everyday verse A to the
Sgt Pepper’s-like E riff with the double bender
at the tail end.

Pretty much. He quit and didn’t think the other guys would even want to carry on with the name, for the same reasons he’s running his mouth about now, “those guys are creatively bankrupt and have no ideas or music to write”. Gilmour basically said “We earned the right to that name just as you did and have no intention of throwing in the towel” and that’s when the lawyers came in.

They had to spend a fuckload of money getting out of that mess, then Gilmour and Mason had to front all the money to start the Momentary Lapse tour, so they sold some planes/cars and put the money up. What I find humorous about all this is that if Dave and Nick never put in the effort to do that, Floyd would have been done for in ‘85 and Waters wouldn’t even have a website to bitch about not being on. Gilmour and Mason carried the band into relevancy in the 90’s where younger kids like me were able to become fans and Waters now wants to ride on the coattails of the work Gilmour and Mason put in during that time, while claiming everyone else was riding his coattails the whole time. :ROFLMAO:

And FWIW, the only reason I feel I’m a sane contributor to society these days is because of all the acid and shrooms I’ve taken over the years. While it didn’t fair so well for Syd, it’s how I quite drinking myself to death and how I resolved depression in the following years. I would have been dead 12 years ago if it weren’t for mushrooms. I try to trip once every 6 months to hit my reset switch, but I don’t like doing it with other people and prefer to spend the night alone, meditating and watching the PULSE dvd.

Waters has been lip syncing for years now. Sometimes he does the “whispering quietly along to the pre-recorded track”, which you can see here-

And sometimes he’s flat out faking it, which can be seen throughout this vid. Guessing the guy who made the vid is scared Waters is gonna come after him or something.

Someone commented earlier that Gilmour isn’t much of a singer, I have to very much disagree. That dude has a huge, huge range and can bridge between head and chest voice like it’s nothing to him. It doesn’t sound all that impressive from a non-singer perspective, but understanding what he’s doing tells a really different story. Even crazier is that his age doesn’t seem to have much of an effect on his voice. Just because someone isn’t belting shit out doesn’t mean they’re a less worthy singer, they’re just utilizing different methods to deliver.

Sounds like shit.
But he will guarantee, 100% sure, the Grammy of Narcissist, Douche bag, Idiot, Butt hurt, Worst singer, Art fucker, Me me me, of the century. So, he will be very happy about it.
