Seasoned Micro Pitch Shift users advice requested

My Eclipse arrived broken because the seller didn't properly pack it, so no comparisons from me :( Powers on, but screen no longer works. What a bummer.
that is such a drag. prior to getting my pcm 80, i ordered a pcm 70 from GC in NY and it arrived in the world’s flimsiest box with one layer of small bubble wrap wrapped around the unit.
the main encoder was pushed in about a half inch on one side and unit was DOA.

i feel your pain.

I used the IPS 33 for this back in the day. +6/-6 running it stereo. Other guitarist did a similar thing with a Quadraverb. Now I get a similar sound using the Dimension C pedal. Also my Digitech RP1000 has a harmoniser very similar to to IPS 33 and I also use the +6/-6 setting.
There are some old vids on my channel of us using the pitch shift live. Sounds pretty good considering we had no clue what we were doing.

i had the ips 33 up until last month and for such an old and obscure piece of rack gear, it actually sounded great as in didn’t alter the dry tone and shifted pitch without too much chipmunk thinning. and definitely easier to dial in versus it’s rival the H3000.

but for me, the mono in/stereo out, no delay or modulation, and touchy input level before clipping was a bit too limiting to dedicate precious rack space to.

What about the GSP1101? Rackmount version of the RP1000. Harmony section is like the IPS33.

for whatever reason—maybe because i was never chasing stereo pitch effects live— i never gravitated to the digitech rack stuff. i’d be more inclined now but i’ll hopefully have a restored H3000 to satisfy that itch!

Ive been using this RP1000 for probably 20 years now. It is really a great unit. Never tried the rack unit, but it is similar. Just the added ability to load cab models. Probably some other stuff too. Thier stuff really flew under the radar, being consumer grade I suppose.

made a little progress this evening in the micropitch lab. no surprise running the H9 micropitch/H3000 preset gets the best results so far:

running DI to the mixer for headphone monitoring, to really discern changes to parameters.

interesting how throwing fx from the magic stomp into the H9 and A/B ing both can really affect the present or latent attack of the sound in unpredictable ways.

fyi the dedicated eventide micropitch pedal can handle +14 dBu at the input versus the H9’s +4dBu input limit.
