I am in the process of going all rack now. Just traded for an old Intellifex. Landgraff modded Engl 520, or Quinn 13th Floor Mono preamp split by the Intellifex, to either Mosvalve for lower power, Kasha JK150 with 4 - KT-88 power Tubes in Stereo for serious juice. Going to have a custom power amp made to match the Preamp soon. I will be honest midi seems really cool, but programming, figuring out how to work it all is pretty intimidating. I will need some help for sure.

I like to keep things simple. The ADA is out of the rack now and I have a Furman power conditioner in the top rack space followed by the Mak4, then Alesis quadraverb, then 2502. I used it tonight for an outdoor gig and it killed. Love this rig. I went through a Bogner Duende, a Mesa Triaxis and the ADA mp-1 in various combinations before I got here. I think I'm done searching for my tone for a while. I have the bright mod on the clean channel on the Mak4 and it definitely cuts. With my tele, to say it "cuts" throught the mix is an understatement. Yet it is not harsh somehow. I may get other gear but I doubt I ever get rid of this setup.

Here's a picture of my old rack. I'm actually thinking about going back to a rack setup. It seems to be the only way I get some of the tones that I like to use.

Recently sold the bottom M4. The plan is to replace it with either an X88 or an X99. Who's selling? :D

Poweramp + verb + awesome good Mako-preamp = all one ever needs i suppose. Sweet and simple setup,

UPDATE FROM MY JUNE 5th POST ABOVE

Well, I was feeling a little over-extended on modular, so I decided to unload one of my Egnater M4s and start the search for a Soldano X88. It didn't take more than 2 months.

Now I think my rack is finally done. The only other piece I could see trying to stuff into it would be a dbx 160 compressor - it would add a different dimension when in the signal path and would create some additional clean sound options.

LOL I figured something like that was bound to pop up haha

I should be posting pictures of my rack soon. It has gone through A LOT of changes over a few months. It started as 5 space rack with a mesa 50 cal and a power conditioner, then to an 8 space rack with a 50 cal, G major, Peavey rockmaster preamp, rocktron hush super C, and a power conditioner.

Then a few other changes, and then I have my un-complete rack set up.

A furman power conditioner
Mesa recto preamp
Rocktron intellifex (inbound)
G major
Square 1 modded GCX
Pedal drawer: Custom John Nau boost/Overdrive pedal, Dyna comp, MXR classic distortion, Isp Decimator, Iso 5
50 cal + with negative feedback switch (controlled by recto pre modern switch)

RJM master mind, and dunlop 535q wah
Recto cab

I'm pretty happy with it right now :D

So does the patch mate allow you to run the different preamps into the power amp in different combinations without having to re-cable stuff? Sorry for the newb question. Very nice set up

Thanks. I didn't follow up on this thread previously. I'm still digging it and after some of the things I tried I don't miss the complexity.
