Holy crap thats amazing....

So does the patch mate allow you to run the different preamps into the power amp in different combinations without having to re-cable stuff? Sorry for the newb question. Very nice set up

Not exactly. The way I have it wired, I can switch between any of the 3 preamps and channels at the touch of a footswitch (midi), but I cannot combine multiple preamps at once. For that, I would need to run a 1U mixer in my current setup, or pick up a specialized switching unit.

This is the one that came to mind for you, re: combining preamps, or selecting them one at a time:

UPDATE FROM MY JUNE 5th POST ABOVE

Well, I was feeling a little over-extended on modular, so I decided to unload one of my Egnater M4s and start the search for a Soldano X88. It didn't take more than 2 months.

Now I think my rack is finally done. The only other piece I could see trying to stuff into it would be a dbx 160 compressor - it would add a different dimension when in the signal path and would create some additional clean sound options.

Hi Zach:

That unit is no longer made, is it?

The other problems I foresee are:
1.) I restricted myself to a 12 space rack for portability reasons (that's a laugh!), and I see that unit would require 3 additional external switches, and my PatchMate is already fully utilized (3 audio loops for the preamps, 1 audio loop for the Replifex, and the remaining 5 loops are being used for switching the Fish's and X88's channels). As a result, I would need an additional switcher (e.g., PatchMate, GCX, etc.) that I couldn't fit in my rack without taking something out......
2.) The Boogie switcher does not have send/return levels for each audio loop, which is not ideal for quick and easy signal balancing.

It would probably be easier to split my guitar signal 3 ways (e.g., using a Morley Tripler pedal or some similar box attached into the back of the rack) and then send each of the three signals into the PatchMate loop for each respective preamp. The outputs of those 3 loops would go into channels 1 through 3 of a 1U rack mixer, which would allow me to quickly balance signals across the preamps. The FX Send/Return on the mixer would then feed to/from the Replifex. Finally, the output from the mixer would feed into the power amp inputs.

Thoughts?

I went from a 4 space to a 12 to a 20 to a 40 to a 20 to a 12 to a 3 and Mesa sus4 8 space and now back to a 4 space. The 2 space drawer comes out and gets the Axe II for effects or use with the Atomic. There is a Monster 2500 and Peterson Tuner for the Bogner and Reverb. After all the rack gear and amps I have been through I realized this is all I Need/Want.

Still it is a Powerful 4 space rack

Don't be ridiculous. After that list of different racks you have been through, one thing is clear: you don't know what you need/want!

Some beauty set ups in here, but c'mon, this one is so tasty with the Soldano and the Fish, nicely done... All of 'em, beauty tune-makers for sure!!

I'll add the shot of mine later today, but it's pretty dam simple - PS4x4, Mak4, Axe, Fryette - that's it that's all...

Mo

Yeah this one is my fav looking rack. I had the RT 2/50 and Eggie M4 was one of my favorite set ups. If I went rack again I would do M4, Bogner Fish,Axe II and Rt2/50 or VHT 2902.

Yeah beats sticking it a corner or under the stairs.  it up for grabs if someone wants to buy it. I have a wall mount for the tv.
