sounds killer as always dude

Thank you. I have taken a few years to get where I think it should be. There are some unusual circuitry assemblies inside.

Thank you again for listening and posting.

I may be wrong, but I thought you did a video a while back of your then Snorkler, or something going for AIC tone, and it wasn't quite there. This one sounds really good! I could definitely hear the characteristics. I'm a JC/AIC fanatic and have the JJ100. This mod is definitely up there.

Can you share or show the settings when you do these clips? I'd be curious to see where they are. Thanks!

This is the same amp just in the head box with a couple changes in the phase inverter coupling caps & a little extra something else in addition to a Resonance knob on the back which I have wired in a unique manner.

The settings are as follows.
Gain 10
Master .5
Treble 6
Mids 5.5
Bass 7
Presence 7

Sounds killer David! Love that low mid growl....

I picked up a 65 Bassman today...Gonna try and boost it to get something close to Facelift.

Thank you for the kind words.

That bassman can have the same mods done though there will be more extensive work and the PT/OT will be different. Power Tube conversion and likely elevated heaters as well.

I suggest studying some none cathode follower Bogner schematics. Definitely alter the Fender tone stack. Focus on filtering as well as the PI circuit.

Sounds cool.

Keep me in the loop please.

I don’t own a midi-verb.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Thats funny cuz every clip you've made in the last 10 years you were going thru an Alesis midiverb or similar.
You've even said so in some of the clips.
I see you've edited your post from lastnite where you said you had 600ms slapback on the amp hmm ?
I wouldn't trip cuz Bill Landry uses one too.
Fortunately my amp pile is complete at the moment.
Not all ears hear the same. TONE IS SUBJECTIVE.
Hard to believe AIC formed in 1987 and is now considered "classic rock".

Nothing funny about it. It is obvious there is a delay.

There is a stack of Alesis “Quadraverbs” from 1989 and yes one was in use.

Inflections are always missing when communicating in this manner.

I still purchase all of Alice In Chains new music. There are some good productions but Facelift will always be my favorite entire album.

Best regards, David

Overall, it sounds pretty good!

But I think for the sake of demoing your work, as a business, turn the effects off and let us hear the amp. With the delay and verb, there isn't much difference from that and a stock boosted Marshall tone. Fine tone, but not 'special'. I assume you feel your amp sounds special, or you wouldn't do this.

I would also suggest that you do less of the flurry of notes thing (like around 1:14), it doesn't add any value as a demonstrative tool.

But, if you don't do these videos for that purpose, disregard!

I appreciate your input and it’s well taken not like I haven’t heard it before. If it’s not that then guys say don’t use a camera, use a professional microphone (so you can manipulate the sound?)etc. etc. etc.

I have my reasons. For the flurry of notes I’ll take that as a complement. Some guys can’t play like that, some can and both rhythm and a flurry of notes were demonstrated appropriately without dragging it out to be a 10 minute video.

Special requests I am happy to fulfill as I usually do as well as demoing the taper of a master volume or the gain pots etc.

No it’s not me. I’ve played the jersey rig for years with the SD-1 in front of a stock 2203/2204/2205/2210 and there’s no comparison for me, none at all as this is much smoother and there’s no fizz or fatiguing harshness.

No disrespect intended but if you prefer to put a SD-1 type OD in front of a stock amp and rob your tone of the low end and add hiss that is great as long as it gets you where you want to be.

Thanks for posting & best regards.

Yeah between the phone recording, too many effects, flurry of notes, bad lighting and most of all the bad hair day, etc you still sold me! Great tone as always!

LMFAO! Great attitude and awesome ears. I think you might be smarter than the average troll.

I’m still laughing. I used to have long blond curly hair as a teen guitarist in bar bands.

I shaved my head at 30. Not everyone can pull it off but no denying my 6’3” 250lbs Viking heritage.

Yngwie has the Furry. I have the Flurry. I’m sure you know the story.

Thanks for listening and making me laugh.

“You have unleashed the Flurry”!

Much respect, David Hopkins

Pedals are tools in the toolbox and why not there are thousands to chose from why limit yourself.
Not everyone want "just an amp". And you're using FX yourself so there goes that argument.
If my amp gets heavy without pedals thats fine but i still like options and some pedals make an amps tone pop more than by itself.
As for your playing not knocking it but maybe something more melodic and different as your demos are very similar.
I myself prefer cellphone clips in the room better than SoundCloud stuff as long as they're done well.
You asked for opines so there you go.
