And it was seriously one of the best experiences of my life! I mean, I was so content even after it was over that I was actually looking forward to reality (that's never happened before coming back from a vacation).
Here are some pics:
Anyways, I got to jam with Paul Gilbert and Andy Timmons! Took a private lesson with Mimi Fox (never heard of her you say then, LOOK her up!). Had 5 hours of daily group lessons with Paul Gilbert/Andy Timmons/Scotty Johnson/Tony Spinner/Adam Fulara/Mimi Fox. Ate breakfast, lunch and dinner while shooting the breeze with them and other attendees. Saw 4 jam concerts in a row that were WAY more entertaining and musical than any G3 jam. And seriously it cost me only $1,500 total including 4 nights shared room with another guitar nut who came all the way from GERMANY and all the meals.
That's what I said last year. This year I did The PG GGE instead of going to Germany with my family next month (they're going for 2 weeks, I could have only gone for 1 week). I am going to Portugal later on in the year with my wife anyway and we went to Bermuda earlier in the year so I got away with it
Scotty Johnson covered time (feeling it not just playing in time), basic theory and a couple of tips to make your rock sound more colorful
Paul Gilbert covered omitting notes from scales to create different scale patterns/what different chords and structures from songs that he learned that changed the way he played & wrote songs/some technique and more.
Andy Timmons spoke a lot about where his playing and approach to playing came from/phasing and did like a little private lesson based on the student playing something and then he'd praise and critique with all the attendees looking on and listening (I was one of the half dozen examples).
Adam Fulara covered all the different components of music that you can alter to make your playing more unique.
Mimi Fox covered so much mind blowing Jazz stuff... that's the best way for me to describe it.
Tony Spinner covered open tunings for slide, playing blues with A LOT of feeling and singing lead vocals while you play.
Yep and the other guitar I decided to sell (10th anniversary PGM was also there with its new owner). Keeping this 90th as it has such a crunchy rhythm tone with the Steve's Special flipped the opposite direction. I didn't like it in its original configuration (too icepicky to me).
did you get a chance to check out his picks? is he playing with a very thin pick? he gets such I a "clicky" tone I am wondering if his picks are quite thin?

Yes he gave me the pick he used for our 2nd day after telling me I play very well and melodic with a sense of space Believe me I was on cloud nine for more than a few minutes. It is a medium thickness full sized pick.
