Thanks Dan,

I took a little more mids out and it was METAL heaven!
Not really sure if I need another 'metal' tone or not with Herbie. ;)

We were melting the paint last nite!!

:D
I think it would be better to meet one of the Herbert guys and try it before a trade.

But it´s great that you´re in tone heaven again !

I think I will sell my car before my Herbert !
There is a life without a car, but without Herbi...

Last night after re-arranging the rig in the room....
it was PURE TONE!!! :worship: :worship: :worship:
We ran thru a ton of Van Halen songs and I was shocked at how close this amp can get the BROWN SOUND.

Just cant let it go. :gethim:

Going to have to just SAVE for the Herbert. ;)

Wise choice!

Honestly, it's a good decision either way.

Its really funny on how you can just move your rig to a different side of the jam room.....
and tweak it in different and WOW......huge difference.

Did it sound better even before you tweaked it? Acoustics can make a big impact. Glad you got things working better. :)

It sounded great before....but the cabs were placed 'slightly' behind and off to the side of the drums and I know that the drum percussion was messing with the Cabs output.
Now I have FULL BLOWN stack with nothing in front and its unbelievable. :worship:
I was fighting the drums last time.
Now had to actually turn the gain and presence back about 25%.

Always a good sign of a metal/rock band when you feel like you need to turn down the gain.

I was surprised at how much more BOLDER the amp came across when I kicked back the gain.
.......and yes....it was still handling the Chugga Chugga Brootz! :D

What little experience I've had with the VH4, I thought the full level of gain wasn't entirely usable for the stuff I play. So backing it back down to (channel 3 & 4) 12 or 1 o'clock was the definitely the sweet-spot for me personally.
