How about $2500 Shipped/PayPal...or $2575 Shipped/PayPal.................stop the fucking "$2500 Shipped PP gift or add 3%"

Just suck up the PayPal charges or include the 3% in your asking price for fucks sake. Nobody should buy anything using PayPal gift, so stop being the douche that even suggests the option.

I will purposely avoid any sale that even mentions PayPal Gift

Now that I think about it, using gift option so much when buying from people on the internet I was really naive. Best to just send the value plus the 3-4% and get the protection. You end up paying the same with gift anyway more or less.

Do your research before you get all wound about this. There is a very valid reason for asking PP Gift these days. Don't like it, don't buy!

I do the opposite. I state my price with reg PayPal included. If the buyer then wants to take off 3%, it's their call!

If you know or trust the person I see no issues.
This for sure. I mostly buy and sell among the same guys most of the time here.

I can understand not wanting to use the gift option. But on a 2500/3000 dollar transaction with someone you trust, it's a decent savings. I don't understand the anger if the seller offers both ways

Amen... and that fucking use of the term "net" to show a lower price thus hiding the actual cost which includes both shipping and paypal! Nice... like we are really that dense

THIS.

PayPal Gift is used to protect the seller from dishonest, thieving buyers.

Don't like it? Move along.

PP Gift is only used for trusted sellers I've done business with before and close friends. Other than that, no.

Then move on.

There's no way I'd use regular PP with all the scammers around and PP holding your funds.

Shady buyer uses PP to buy item. Honest seller ships item. Item arrives in perfect order but shady buyer reports that the item is not as described or did not show up. PP automatically withdraws funds from honest sellers account. Shady buyer gets his money back AND gets the item. OR buyer simply gets buyers remorse and says the item is not as described and PP holds the guitar and the withdraws the money while they 'investigate'.

Fuck PP.

if someone wants to give me a gift please do.

I am not mad like op :D

THAT gets you angry?

Can't wait to see you when this happens.

OK, I'll pay the regular Paypal fee. Then I'll beat the shit out of the amp or guitar I bought from you and in 4 months when I'm tired of said guitar or amp I'll open up a Paypal case stating that the item wasn't in the described condition when I bought it 4 months ago. Paypal will back me up, take my side, and I'll get my money back. HaHa, NaNa.

I sold my Greco double neck on MyLesPaul using PayPal gift back in September. Sale was smooth, and hassle free! As long as you're not dealing with scammers, I say go PP gift.

You can expect the gift option to become more popular... Today is the last day under ebay/PayPal 45 day "item not as described" return request policy. It increases to 180 days midnight tonight.

I've sold many guitars on eBay & never had a problem with a buyer. When I list an item, I check the boxes that eliminates any buyer that has any disputes, low feedback or any shit at all............not a guarantee by any means, but it has worked for me for around 7 years now.

I don't sell to people I don't know. I have refused to sell here to folks and on other websites. But, I never ask for PPG either....just be careful with the buyers. I have even went so far as to refund money on a sale because the buyer sent money then started asking all the stupid questions, leaving me with an uneasy feeling. Fuck that. I don't need the money that bad to put up with some asshole.
