The Duncan JB. Who is a fan, why?

my experience with the jb has always been in superstrat type guitars and I hate it. I always made excuses for it but at the end of the day I hate the voicing. Replaced one in a DK2 with a custom 5 and BOOM!!! amazeballs.....gonna have scottosan build me something for my Kramer....then I'll have a free jb for someone.

The JB is easy to like and very versatile but still has enough output to make an amp scream. Perhaps you should consider a Dimarzio Norton DP160 as it's the closest you'll get in the Dimarzio line to the JB, but in my opinion even better than the JB.
You do realize this post was from 2016?

JB was the first pickup I ever bought way back in 1987.
It replaced a microphonic piece of shit Invader lookin' turd in a Randy Rhodes V copy made by Arbor..

Ha ha! Oops. Sometimes it's hard to see on my phone. Oh well, it's still an accessible archive to anyone who might be searching for info on the pickups.

It’s all good. I’ve done it myself on my phone.

We have a new member here that seems to only be interested in necro bumping ancient threads. Doesn’t happen much here .

Na, I wouldn't do it intentionally. Just that everything keeps getting smaller as if there's an industry assumption that everyone is nearsighted.

Freaked me out when I saw I had replied to this post before but then saw it was 2016 😅 I got divorced that next year and now have been remarried for a year and a half. Still feel the same way about the JB.

Love the JB. Have them in three guitars. Sound different, but fat and full in each. Can’t stand them with 250K pots, but w/500K all is well.

One of my favorite pickups. I’ve got an 80’s JBJ laying around here somewhere that really needs to go in something.

One of my favorites…versatile to the Max.
