Sounds killer

Says this is played through a dead clean channel on the Friedman Buxom Betty amp!

That sounded awesome! I think he was playing Dokken's "Burning Like a Flame" in the beginning and sounded just like those pinch harmonics Lynch did.

Sounds good. So it's a distortion, or and overdrive? Or both?

Price on this ? It would be nice to have it not be a 400-500 $ pedal.

What is it about these new pedals that makes them sound so much better and more "amp like" than before? We're seeing these great sounding, tube amp-like pedals from a bunch of companies. A lot of them sound really good. Bogner, Diezel, Amptweaker, Wampler, Carl Martin, Friedman, tons more...

I'm really curious as to what new techniques/circuits/components are being used to increase the quality and feel so dramatically. At this point, I have no desire for an expensive tube amp anymore. VST amp sims, AxeFX/Helix digital modelling, pedals like this...why waste my money on a tube head with limited options anymore?

I thought the bogner red sounded good a few years back when I got one. This BE pedal sounds really really good here. Been considering getting another digital preamp for home practice.. but this got my attention big time !!

Before I saw this video, the Tech 21 RK5 preamp pedal was on the radar.

The quality of that vid was pretty weak , but I could get the idea. It sounded good. But lots of questions remain, like the price as stated above........... and is it made to be played into a clean amp or is it an overdrive? Did that sound killer because the guy was playing it into a badass amp and we are hearing the amp?

Sounds incred. Hope more clips and details surface soon.

The amp in a box pedals are more like preamps than a typical dirt pedal.

Two big factors: many (all to my knowledge actually) use internal current boosters to get a higher internal voltage. So, they run on 9v but internally are operating at a higher voltage.

They want to see a CLEAN amp. The pedal is a preamp and does the work for gain while the clean amp is merely the platform and acts more like a power amp. These types of pedals sound noticeably worse when run into a dirty amp and in many cases lose their feel and character.

That was 99% the pedal as it was played through a Buxom Betty set dead clean.

The pedal will be in the $220 range based on discussIon with Dave.

I played the pedal several times this week and it is absolutely amazing. No brainer of a pedal.

Very impressed with it. So far to me, the highlight of the NAMM show that has my interest.

it really has that high gain modded marshall bark to it
dang!

Was also considering the 5150 OD for a while now, but this... THIS !!!!
