As some of you may or may not know, the pickup winding for me has been a part time thing. In efforts to keep prices low, I operate with no advertising, no online auctions or listings and for the most part only spamming this forum:D, yet still get 5-10 orders a week, many of which are outside of the forum.

I still hold full time non-music related job

My wife has accepted a US government job in Japan and the family will be accompanying her. My employer is considering allowing me to work remotely although I would be working evenings in Japan to align with US hours. I currently work a 4 day work week and wind Friday through Sunday. Since I will still have access to USPS on the military bases and qualify for an FPO AP PO Box, I think I can still operate as usual and still get parts and still ship without incurring additional costs. The only difference, is that priority shipping will now take 8-10 days. This is a life changing move and I have a lot to think about. If I cannot get approval from my employer, I will be worried about finding suitable employment over there and maybe I will have to consider taking the next step pickup wise. This is a bit overwhelming at the moment. I’ll keep everyone posted

Everything will work out. It always does!

I’m sure your family will prosper wherever you guys are.

Life's a winding road, but that's one pretty big curve.
Even if your work situation is iffy at first, I'm sure it'll be great for you and the fam.
Foreign travel is especially broadening for children.
All the best.

All the best to you and your family, Scott! I'll bet you take over Japan with your pickups! They would LOVE to have an American making kickass pickups in Japan.

That’s the driving factor. My wife is Japanese and my kids obviously half. We have no family in Texas. We will be with 30 minutes of her entire family. This is a rare opportunity.

Good luck, I’m sure the whole forum is pulling for you !!!

I wish you the best. That is a rare opportunity.

And since modded Roccafortes are illegal in Japan, you have my address.

Technically I can make them in Japan and claim “American Made”. That is literally different than claiming “Made in the USA”

The intent is to keep going. I am reaching out to parts vendors this morning to discuss those options. Also, I am fortunate enough that my wife’s cousin is a pedal maker in Japan specializing in fuzz pedals, so he is helping me find out option for domestic Japanese parts.

WOW! that's a huge change, but may be a big opportunity for you as well. I see your client base expanding when tonenerd pickups start catching on in Japan.

Wishing you all the best in what the future may bring.
