I should be on that CCM list, right Jerry?

My CCV should be due in a few weeks.

it's different, no zener's like the jose stuff, different filtering I believe, some other stuff to...

it's tighter, more edge to the gain and a bit stiffer and tighter on the bottom end for heavier styles .... the only two that exist were modified ccv pcb boards that Mark did, one got stolen the other belongs to Chris Schmidt, there is talk that mark may model the ccm after the plexi circuit he is doing for me now, OR the plexi i have in my possession now which is the nastiest aldrich mod i've ever heard. Ask some of the guys at the fortin fest, they heard it.. amp is viscious!!!

DISCLAIMER - I don't speak for the Cameron camp , but i speak from experience...The ccm pretty much doesn't exist yet so take this post with a grain of salt and understand if you order one it will more than likely be a longer wait for sure.

Interesting, didn't realize it was still a work in progress...Well, I got a CCV that should be started on within 2 months or so. It'll be my first Cameron, but I'm sure it won't be my last.

the CCM does take a little longer. Just spoke to mark about em a few mins ago. Its a different animal. A little more involved than a modded CCV. It can be done that way but the goal is a seperate board.

My good experience is simple. I have two of his modded Marshall heads, one a three channel mod, the other a two channel mod. These are simply two of the most versatile, best recording/live amps I have ever used.

The main three channel head, can be heard on the last "Porcupine Tree" album "The Incident" and Steve Wilson's solo album "Insurgentes".

Steve Wilson is a really intense and particular producer/guitarist. He doesn't care who did the mods or what the amp is....it just has to sound the best. No compromise on tones. This amp recorded best over and over again.

I had an assortment of amps for both sessions....Steve "chose" the Cameron every time, until all the amp tracks on these albums were recorded on this amp.

Also....this amp has done almost 200 live gigs with Porcupine Tree, in 30+ countries, surviving serious shipping and transport issues, as well as voltage issues.

I have only talked to Mark once, he was very helpful.

So all I have to say....200 gigs down the road, his amps speak for themselves....

im now on the list for a ccm w/ a tube fx loop

Are you're saying that a stock $3K CCV doesn't include a tube buffered effects loop?

It has a passive insert loop like a dumble... and for what it's worth The fortin Bones doesn't come stock with one either.....

Mark is not a big fan of effects loops. He feels they change the tone too much and that a passive insert loop has the least effect on tone. I believe Dave Friedman doesn't care for effects loops and feels amps sound better without them.

The insert loop in my CCV sounds fine :)

FWIW, I don't do FX loops either. Too hard to get levels worked out with different FX. What few I run sound better in front of the amp anyway. I agree with Dave and Mark here, as it is just more shit to get in the way. That's how me and Adam Jones roll

I love the Custom Tube FX Loop Mark Did on my CCV... I usually just keep it Simple though, and use just a Slight Delay...

Funny thing is... It Sounds So DAMM GOOD, I Run It DRY!!!

I wanted the Loop so bad on it, and It's the only amp I have that I run straight in w/o the Delay!!

Can or will a CCM still do classic 70's tones or is it all metal, all the time? I'm actually interested in the CCM for heavy stuff but always seem to need to bust out some Lizzy. I already have a Metro plexi though so maybe I just need to man up.

Is the CCM still in the design stages?

I think this tube buffered FX loop talk has become all hype at this point.

If Mark thinks passive is best, that is what I am going with.

ps - the marsha doesnt come with a loop either....

if there is something your thinking about just let me know we can prob do it. I beleive high and low is standard. Pentode triode is optional. All the cool mini's on the front , standard.. There is like a HG LG on the front by the channel switch standard now.

Basically was wondering about the pentode/triode. How much extra for that?

I think the pentode/triode is an option that everyone should order (if possible). It allows some of the crushing bottom end to be removed and the ability to turn up the power amp some more for a different grind to the amp. I find myself using triode (less bottom end) the most. The CCV is nothing short of a spectacular amp.

A killer option would be making Channel 1 Aldrich style and Channel 2 stock (Jose style).

BUT I NEVER WANT THE CRUSHING BOTTOM END TO BE REMOVED!!!!

HELLS NO!!!! :rawk: :rawk: :rawk:

it can if requested. the naked has one, but i have yet to plug into it.

the only loop i care for is the parallel fx loop on the diezel amps and being able to control volume with stomp boxes rather than output level adjustments in rack fx or through a line mixer. i can't be arsed with any of that really.

I know one of the four CCVs is supposed to be mine but the CCM needs a little more time. Mark said he would call me next week.
