You may have seen a thread I started a while back about me and my bad luck with Les Pauls. I do have a 57Ri Gold Top I LOVE!.
So, last week I go and buy an Eric Johnson Strat (used). Really like the guitar....cool, got a good Strat and Les Paul.....now what? So me and a buddy of mine (Argonaut4) go walking into a local store, looked around, blah, blah, blah... The sales guy says, yeah, we have this 68RI VOS here too. A guy wants it but he couldn't get approved for financing. He's trying to find another way to buy it. (has it behind the counter)
Oh no.....this IS the guitar I HAVE WANTED!!! I play it for a while...yeah, I want it, but don't have the cash. I bought my EJ Strat at the same store chain, but a different one about 30 miles away (not a gc). I ask if I could bring it back to this store towards this Lester. He says, well, we have a 3 day return policy, but if the sales guy approves it, it will be ok. That way, they split the sale...the other sales guy comes out ahead by a little.
He approves it.....I think about it. Go home, call him and say I'm going to pass. I really should talk to the wife before I do something. So, I tell my wife the story. She says, well, why didn't you get it? (I had to use a credit card for $500 of it). Well, i called him back and said, I'LL DO IT!
So, now I'm tapped out, but have 2 killer Lesters. I'm happy.
