Maybe they weren't installed correctly. I didn't install them, but a tech did for the previous owner of that guitar. But even the stock pickups in the LP's are noisier than the BK's.

 I really want an Aldrich set with both the neck and bridge pickups for my R7 Goldtop! The stock pickups are nice, but too vintage sounding for me!
Yeah, I'm going to put something in my 57RI. I just don't know what yet. I'm leaning towards a BBQ right now.

Whats pickup by Duncan or whoever else can you compare the BBQ to?

Iv been interested in Rio Grandes pickups but to be honest, its cheaper and more convinient to buy Duncans or Suhrs where i live!

Hmmm...hard to compare. I've only heard it in a Hamer Korina Explorer....and it kills. Perfection.... But it might just match up well in that guitar too, I dunno. My only concern is that it might not have enough highs to be an R7, but I might have to find out.

Heck yeah! Looking great... I don't care what anyone else says... The truth is you just can't beat the tone from a Les Paul. Best guitar ever made.

Yep, I have to agree. It only took me 19 years to figure it out.

I like the nickel hardware better than the gold... by alot...

I like both, but I probably prefer gold.

That's a great looking guitar J.B. Congrats!!

+1 I like both to. My black LP studio with gold hardware looks sharp to me...

The only "mistake" was not getting into the higher end Custom Shop models earlier. My R8 beats any other LP I've owned or even played. That guitar has "it!"

I agree, my '58 slays all of my others too...........but I still have a special place in my stable for my old Les Paul Custom Black Beauty too.

J.B. , I agree about the BBQ in a Les Paul, they sound incredible. In fact, I just put a BBQ bucker in one of my mahogany Charvels last night........TASTY!!!!!
