Cool....the guitars get the bed...you get the floor. :D
I'm feeling gas coming on for the Steve Morse SM-Y2D.

The new wife isn't so keen on the guitars getting the bed anymore...
I don't think I could fit all the EBMMs on the bed now! I do like the top on the Y2D, but I'm not so keen on the pickup switching...I almost have to have something clucky/strat-in-position-2, and I seem to find ways to miss it while it's not there. Thats like the one thing the Y2D is missing, although I bet you could creatively rewire it. Great looking guitar!
Watching the Steve Morse videos on the EBMM web site hurts....my eye is open for a used one. ;)

Here's one I used to own, but sold earlier this year;

Man you guys are giving me GAS, ive been thinking about an axis,

How comfortably are they standing up?

DO they have a belly cut?

How do they compare to the peavey wolfgang?

Whats the neck like?

cheers tony

The neck is an odd shape, many with bigger hands do not get along well with it, neck hape doesn't affect a guitar at all for me so i dont mind.

Often I found the E string on the high end was too close to the edge of the fretbaord, which, combined with ym sloppy technique, wasn't always so fun.

Uber light, uber comfy, not belly cut on mine. Better than the wolfgang IMO, just because EBMM is such a great company.

Hi Tony,
My Axisesis are all belly cut, for her pleasure ;) Compared to the Peavey, I think the pickups are a little bit warmer and also better clean, but both guitars are pretty good. Peavey can be had with arch-top and a tone know, Axis can't, although the Super Sport models can have vintage trems or hardtails and 5 way pickup selector. Both Axis and Wolfgang are lower-pitch-only in regards to the floyd rose. Both neck carves are fairly similar. I will say that I have pretty big hands, and I've never had any discomfort with EBMM necks, although I've heard some people say that they've run into problems. I honestly have to say that EBMM necks slay, and I think most of the guys in this thread would back me up. Hope that helps, let me know if you need some more info!

Jeff

Here's a pick of my 92' EBMM EVH. I need to take some beauty shots of it...

I've owned both the EBMM Axis and a Wolfgang Special.
They are quite similar playing and sounding...the Axis had a bit nicer sound but it may have been the maple top giving the guitar a bit more definition in the highs.
They seem to be very close to the same pickup output...quite hot. The neck on the Wolfgang is a bit thicker, I like the Wolfgang neck a lot, the Axis may be a bit easier to play since it's a little thinner. Factory finish and setup the Axis wins, but I messed with the Wolfgang Special's setup and can get it to play very similar.

Basically if you like one I think you'll probably like the other.

Are you using the OD-9 with these settings?
I don't remember if I used the MXR 10 band EQ pedal for the solo part...the rhythms I know are just the amp.
When I use the MXR EQ it isn't really for more gain, just feel. I roll back the guitars volume knob when I use it.
