So if Strippers and coke heads enjoy that adult activity story time should be fine as long as its not a sexualized pole dance and coke snort? Or that guy that loves his goat and wears a lot of weird looking leather outfits is cool as well?

Seems like you guys that are pro drag story time are missing the point and not likely to get it.

For me at least, I think I’m looking at maybe a larger picture. Seeing the forest for the trees if you will.

I still base my opinion on drag not being inherently sexual. Some of it is, sure. Hell, a lot of it is, but I also think that is the part of it that gets the most attention.
Like my buddy I mentioned before who I worked on a demo with. He dresses up in drag and sings anime music. Nothing sexual about it at all. Some just dance to prerecorded music.
And some make dirty jokes and grind on audience members. Like your reference to strippers. All strippers dance, but not all dancers strip.

To me it’s similar to an argument about guns. Many would argue a gun by itself is not dangerous. I would argue a dress by itself is not dangerous. I would also argue a man wearing the dress is no more dangerous than a woman wearing the same dress.

It’s all about what the person does once they are in the dress. And from what I have seen, these story hours do not do include anything egregious or dangerous, if done by a woman in the same costume.

No matter what the topic is, some people will be for it and some will be against it, and I’m not saying people who against it are wrong. I’m just saying that people who are against it, are most likely against it because of a preexisting bias.

Which again, is not wrong or uncommon, but I think in order for people to discuss a topic above a superficial level, all parties have to be clear with eachother and themselves on what they are actually discussing. I’m biased as well because I know several dudes that do drag and I wouldn’t think twice about them being around my kids.

If I had to distill all my posts in to one, it would be that I think the benefit of reading to kids, and the positive message they attach to it, far outweighs the ability of these children to look in to the potential “adult” themes other drag performances may have. It’s kind of like not wanting teachers to make a rap song about washing your hands because it will lead children to discover gangsta rap.

Anyways back to work! I’m removing a generator about the size of my truck and it kinda sucks.

I will pray for you, big fat Down Syndrome baby-man.

:ROFLMAO:

I will conjure evil spirits to bring darkness and ill will to you and yours.

Are you mentally challenged? You first used retarded and now Down syndrome as insults. It's usually massive projection when a person uses mental disabilities to insult someone else.

Or are you in grade school?

You've said this or similar a number of times. Why do you default to assuming the worst of people automatically thinking they have a negative bias towards a group because they disagree with you?

you can believe and think what you want and we’ll still be bros…

Also, remember kids not everyone is going to agree on everything and thats okay… like I said don’t go getting all asschapped when someone doesn’t agree with things you feel strongly about.

All's he said was that some may have a pre-existing bias.

Because he's said multiple times throughout this thread that he thinks most people that are against drag queens reading to kids is because they think drag is sexual in nature or wrong in some other way.

His bias doesn't allow him to see the actual point those who disagree with him are making. Stop forcing adult themes they're not emotionally mature enough to understand on kids. Let them enjoy their childhood without being burdened by the complications of adult life.

He's just a troll. Don't buy into the bullshit.

Whoever is behind that account is only saying the opposite of whatever he thinks we believe. It's a predictable and observable pattern.

Because all things being equal, there is nothing wrong with reading to children. I haven't seen anything inappropriate happen at these readings, so the only reason to be against them is what you think might happen because of them.
I mean that's pretty basic human nature so it's understandable, but I'm just saying THAT is mostly why people are against drag story time. Not because anything HAS happened yet, but the thought of what COULD happen. I feel ok with

I was actually having this same discussion with an HVAC tech on site. It started with the Covid Vax and turned in to gender neutrality and then for my own curiosity I turned it towards drag story hour. We didn't agree on a single thing lol. But we had the conversation, in person, in close quarters, and we are still bros. It's what happens when adults can express an opinion and also consider other's.

Honestly if a dude told me he was into drag there would be a barrier between any future bro-hood in terms of being close friends. It's not that I hate the person for it, it's just our other views and life outlook will also likely be so divergent that there is no point in wasting time. I live in a very different universe. But you knew that.
