That's my question....^^^^^^
I'm just looking for an interface that sounds good to feed some kind of DAW like Reaper for a simple setup. I dabbled a bit a few years ago with recording and the whole mic placement thing and putting in all the time to learn all the ins and outs was daunting. The OX seems like a good sounding alternative that gets really good sound sounding recordings plus you have the Sunset sound preamps reverbs and delays to boot.I run my OX to inputs two and three on back of the fractal. Works great.
That also allows you to add post effects if you choose to.
No, it needs an interface from what I have gathered. I'm just gathering information for the moment and putting a list of stuff I would need if I got the OX box.does the ox box double as an interface? I thought it was just a load box?
I’ve heard great things about the reverbs and some of the mics in the unit.
Downside is that support and updates are nonexistent
Personally I use the Fryette powerstation for load handling and then my interface is a UA Apollo

I like the OX with the Sunset sound setting and they have updated with new V30 cabinets even though it is limited I find their method algorithmic dynamic speaker response to be a tad better than standard IR's and I think their cabinet and speakers slections to be everything I would need or want.
I guess there is a way to route the OX lineout to use outside IR's and that was the big bitch people had with the OX was that you were stuck with their speaker emulations but I watched a video that said that isn't the case any longer.

What's a decent DAW recording program out there these days? Reaper?I hear you, though I don’t understand why anybody would bitch about the ox speaker emulation because that’s the whole point isn’t it?
I go into studio one with the OX via the fractal.
That allows me to use an amplifier and nothing else or an amplifier with post effects from fractal, or just use the fractal as a model. That’s the best of each world.

I've used Studio One for the last 2 years, prior to that I was on ProTools but got really tired of the business model. What's a decent DAW recording program out there these days? Reaper?
I bought Cubase LE4 15 or so years ago but I haven't opened that program in years, I don't even think I have it on my current computer.
I like the idea of not needing to mic anything, the simplicity of the OX is what interests me not to mention the excellent sounding results people get with it.
Corey I see you were using the OX in this video but used Studio one, So you used an IR instead of their cabs/speakers in this clip?
Cubase LE4 was a pain in the ass to learn.....so you feel this Presonus Studio One is a better more use friendly DAW? I don't need anything expensive just something that works good and get good results. All of your recordings sound really good! I won't be getting a Fractal to use as an interface so what's a good interface? Also, with the ox, you can crank a cab in the room (should you choose) and use that for feedback while tracking into your daw.
If I want, I can set a 1x12 on my desk or on the floor and stand back a little, getting a nice w/d/w via studio monitors if desired.
This slays imo vs traditional interfaces.
Yes, I'm still on 6 as I haven't seen a compelling reason to upgrade, though I'm sure I will upgrade.Cubase LE4 was a pain in the ass to learn.....so you feel this Presonus Studio One is a better more use friendly DAW? Is this the Studio One you are referring to?

Wait, you can use the Sunset Sound Reverb inside the Ox? I thought the Sunset Sound Reverb was IK Multimedia and the OX used some other Universal Audio reverbs?I'm just looking for an interface that sounds good to feed some kind of DAW like Reaper for a simple setup. Do you have a manual how I can connect uad ox with fractal for recording from my amp?I run my OX to inputs two and three on back of the fractal. Works great.
