Thinking about getting a UA Ox Box what digital interface would you recommend?

As far as interfaces go; I watched a shootout video and the Behringer stuff with the Midas preamps is killer. I have one. I think it's a U204HD or something. Anyway, the thing is dead silent and sounds great. I've used it almost 24/7 to also power my monitors for the computer system and recording with zero issues over like at least 5 years I think.

Audient interfaces.
I have their Evo 8 for a few years now.

Ableton Live.
Been using it for many years, I like so I stay with it; besides I don't want to learn another DAW.

Again, the Waza TAE does all this and more--not sure why the geek boards hate it. Pete Thorn was touring with them and he might be Suhr' biggest endorser.

Since I already have a Rivera Rockcrusher for a load box I will probably look into the UA OX Stomp for the UA cabinet emulations and the UA1176 compressor, reverb and relay effects. Then I'll look into a new DAW, the Studio One stuff sounds good.

Does anyone know how the OX stomp connects to the interface? It looks like 1/4" inbalanced jacks from what I can see, not SPDIF connections like on the standard OX box. It says the USC C connection is for updates only and on videos it looked like the user connected to his phone via bluetooth to access the presets and app for effects control and mic placement. You would think they could provide a popup on a users computer as well.

They do look very capable but there are also quite a few reports of the Boss TAE taking out output transformers of amps. I don't know if these were spurious incidents user errors but I have not heard of any issues with the Suhr RL or Rivera products. A couple of people on this forum had issues and they weren't newbies to tube amps so it was not user error on their part.

I already have a Rockcrusher so I may as well use it as a reactive load and I like the speaker cab and effects emulations from UA so I'll probably check out the stomp some more.

Thanks for all suggestions in the thread, they are all good!:2thumbsup:

I agree, there’s a lot of ways to skin a cat

I started looking at the presonus quantumHD2
Spdif, microphones, looks interesting

Anyone looking the Ox Box should be considering the St Rock IR II instead. It’s just a much better product imo.

One claim on TGP is all I've heard. Guitar forums are very loud and fiercely protective of Fryette and Suhr and I would bet that this is perpetuated to some degree by their loyal fanbase. I've used the TAE just about every day for the last 6 years. Run at least a dozen high end amps through it during that time--it's hooked up to my SLO100 right now.

I've had most of the reampers and attenuators and it sounds as good or better than anything else I've played through but more importantly nothing on the market does what it does. One of the most useful pieces of gear I've ever bought--if it shat the bed I would buy another immediately.
