No idea,really. It was a visceral reaction.
I remember vividly being bagged on hard during the beginning of the hair metal and thrash.
I was young and felt ostracized. Texas Red necks loved picking on anything that is new or different.
10 to 1 those same dicks are listening to Metallica now.
Pretty sure my reaction was because I love seeing anything new happen with guitar music in general.
I know the actual skill being used by Tim is an old style,but he is using it in a new direction.
And bagging on dudes that look like pretty boys seems like cheap heat to me. I know the OP didn't mention it but others have.

The word homophobic gets thrown around and 99% if the time it's not applied properly, as in this case. People are lessening the weight and value of the word to the point where it doesn't hold water anymore.

And please highlight the part where I instilled dislike or hate? Maybe you changed the definition of some words I used? I don't care for the dude, is that bitter? Lmaool I don't care for Ron Jeremy either genius, is that bitter too? If so don't read my comments if it's hurtful. I’m guessing about 25 years ago things took a turn in the world of guitar; my uncle used to tell me all kinds of shit like “It doesn’t matter what you’re guitar looks like, it’s what you do with it” or when I was feeling nervous about playing onstage because I was a chubby teenager “It doesn’t matter what you look like if you go out there and rock the audience!” but then Slipknot and relics got popular and everything changed. Now the way your guitar looks defines if you are a poser or not and if you look anything but what other people want you to look like you’re a gimmick, a “throat queen” (wtf is that? :ROFLMAO:) or a fairy or whatever.

Man, imagine if there were ever a decade where dudes wore spandex, fishnets, makeup and danced around wearing bright pink guitars. All those dudes would get trashed so hard they’d never be able to sell a single album!

I saw an interview recently where th was speaking about their songs and saying something to the effect of, one of them writes the song and the others then play "programmed" parts. After first I thought sounded very "product" oriented and not very creative or artistic. But it jives with their overall sound very well. Very programmatic, not much "feel" from boomer bends. They also seem to me to treat guitar more like a percussion instrument, which also fits very well with the idea of programming the song. I still think they get better with every record but the programmatic sound certainly gets repetitive and causes me to turn them off after a few songs. G.O.A.T., bloodbath and chimera are pretty badass sounding though.
