Not I - I was wondering if there was some kind of update over the weekend.

With the $ on the line, the timing and how everyone else seems to be getting on, I almost want to pull out.

In the end I've paid nearly as much as getting one from MF, with the whole idea of getting to be among the first to own one.

So, that's not panning out - SteveVHT is hit or miss on the forum (he's having to work doubles) - and I still have to wait for it when it finally arrives in NY, while MF is taking pre-orders, offers free shipping (and a return policy, not that I anticipate needing it), for not that much more.

I'm getting a bit frustrated with it overall...

30 days since paypal charged me =/

This is just icing on the cake - freaking MF has them in stock =/

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Marshall-JVM410-H-Tube-Amp-Head?sku=480774

I could order one now and have it here Wednesday/Thursday.

I think I might have to sell it once I get it... I get a pretty big paycut starting March 1st, so I might have to keep my 5150.

:m9:

i ordered mine from gc 2 weeks ago and got it and sold it already. :D

its a nice amp but i liked my splawn better for my needs.

How about if you ordered 10? Think you would have got 10?

The ten is what killed your order time frame wise. Even music stores couldn't get in ten at once.

i didnt need to order 10, i got mine alot cheaper than the group deal. i called around and the highest price i was quoted from a couple other dealers was 1650 shipped. and i got mine for alot less than that.
i sold it for 1500 and paypal took 3% for fees and i still never lost money.

better yet , if i got 10 people to buy jvm's my dealer would have gave me one for free and still had 3k in profits.

i just spend alot on gear and send alot of customers, so they in return hook me up and as long as they dont care then i dont.

I could have pulled that off as well...I only pulled the trigger on the group buy because I thought we would have them before everyone else which obviously didn't work out. Delaer cost is waaaaay cheaper than what we are paying and I have the opportunity to get one for around $300 less than what we paid right now. I figured that the extra $$ I spent was worth getting one so quickly but now they are pretty much everywhere. I am not mad at anyone in this deal I should have just thought a little harder about it...I didn't want to be the casue of others not getting their amps and pulled the trigger prematurely.

I would think that returning the money would not be a big deal since Marshall needs the amps anyway. Seems like they wouldn't mind if they got more amps to get out to dealers.

>|<>QBB< Figures... . It took me a few hours to dial in some killer tones and the right cabs. It's not Mesa time consuming but there are so many knobs that it does take awhile but now I love it. It's kind of a half assed modern metal tone as this is voiced as JCM 800 on mega- 'roids so it's more 80's metal to me but I finally got OD2 to sound pretty damn good.

I agree that this is more a classic rock to 80's metal to shred type of an amp than a modern metal machine. The clean and crunch channels will also appeal to even country, blues and jazz players I'll bet. I feel this amp excels at pretty much everything but the ultra modern thing like the Uber and Powerball do so well. Still somebody will probably prove me wrong.

My friend says he is getting channel three powerball sounds out of OD2 on the jvm now that he spent over a week just tweaking that channel. He said the tone is close enough that he is thinking of selling the powerball. I will hear them both Friday so I can let you know.

I always have a tough time when I hear people say this and I will explain why. Does the tone of the amp dictate what is current or is it the player? Put me on a MKIV and it sounds like 80's metal, Put Zorran on the same amp and it sounds current. People throughout the years have been using Marshalls with distortion boxes for Metal and Newer type metal for years without any change in design yet why is the voicing not dated?
I'm not so sure the voicing has a lot to do with it. That is my current outlook on this idea but it is subject to change without notice!!

Id have to agree with your friend. There was definitely a Powerball type of sound within that amp for sure.

Well the gain is there but it's the voicing. I've always maintained that if there is one amp out there that excels at older thrash tones to the really heavy modern stuff, Engl is it! The JVM has a ton of gain but to my ears still has a more traditional metal tone going. Then again I think it's got more balls than any DSL/TSL I've played and those have been used for some modern metal recording... Judge for yourself. Let us know what you think. This amp does take some tweeking but a lot is in there.

Quit making sense!!!!! :D Yeah the player prolly does have the biggest influence here. But I will say that if I was going for a really modern sound I'd go back to an Engl PB or Uber. The JVM or Mk IV is not my first chioce for the super heavy stuff although they can both get plenty heavy. Obviously that's just me.
