I remember seeing the band Waysted ( remember them) opening for Iron Maiden and getting booed heavily..The singer also got hit with an empty bottle of jack to make matters worse...I think Pete Way from UFO was the leader of that crap band..get it Way - sted!

It's great how many of us have seen the same tours and it wasnt just an off night..I remember Motley /Loudness and the crue just blowing chunks and loudness kicking ass!

oh BTW...... RATT was amazing in 84 and 85.. They blew chunks live from 86 on IMHO.
Bro, Wasnt there a RATT, TNT and Loudness Concert that we both went to way back that was pretty good? IIRC They were all Great but Tony Harnell pissed me off because he was consistently flat live...

A friend of mine remembers seeing TNT and Stryper live on the same bill. I think i remember you and Ralph talking about that show as well.

1.) Great White/Dokken...George had that Rockman crap tone going on and he was obviously pissed at Don. The singer from Great White was sweaty, stinky lush walking out around the crowd prancing around like a fag. Remember Barzini?

2.) Twisted Sister/Iron Maiden - Although Iron Maiden sounded fine, Twister sister was just god aweful. Terrible overall sound too, All I heard was that Galloping mid-range bass from Steve Harris cutting through the mix and drowing every one out.

3.) Motley Crue/Loudness - I was only there to see Loudness and they tore Motley Crue a new ass. Vince Neil sounded like garbage and Mick Mars...well nuff said there.

Ratt did suck live too!! Warren carried that band.

Yeah, Jack Russel sure does stink pretty bad. Couldn't even hear George at that show and we had front row! Remember that dude that picked up the guitar pick off the ground with his toungue becasue it was the only way he could get it with all those dirtbags trying to get it at once?

ha ha , yes I do....speaking of picks being thrown, another fun story about Yngwie. it was the G3 tour and I was in the 2nd row and he fricken threw out a pick so fast that it tagged a chick in the eye behind me and she was almost knocked out by the impact!! Poor girl had to leave the show after the 2nd song!

Crap!! that was it!!! TNT , Stryper and Ratt... Now Im confused because I thought loudness was in there somewhere, maybe they were.... Im burnt...

Ratt ( dancing undercover) and Poison - actually Poison was touring for there first disk and blew Ratt off the stage..even though I dont like poison, they were young and hungry and put on a great show....

Ratt came out and just sucked - I saw them on there two previous tours and while never a great live band , they really went to shit around this time.. Pearcy was drunk and high , stumbling all over the stage, Croucier was looking as retarded as ever and you could tell the band wanted to get done with the half full arena crowd and go back to there hotel rooms to party... It didnt help that the disc was dud and people were losing interest.. By the time the encore came up more the crowd was seriously bailing and you could walk right up to the stage.

I actually saw this concert. Where I was, Lillian Axe opend for both bands and was the best of the 3. Rat did ok. I've never cared for poison but they did ok for having such a small portion of the stage to work with. I always kind of saw them like a Motley Crue rip off. Bret Michaels got busted with a 13 year old girl back stage after the show. There was a big stink about it on local radio.

Two stand out.

Poison SUCKED but Tesla (the reason I went) who opened blew them off the stage.

Also

Bon Jovi SUCKED but Slid Row (the reason I went) who opened blew them off the stage.

I lasted in the Bon Jovi show only long enough to see Jon raise up out of the stage with blue jean jacket on with a sequense Superman symbol on the back. They gay level went so high we literally walked out of the show only about 5 minutes in.

LOL! Very cool stories in this thread too! Anybody see White Lion during the 80s? Was Bratta good at live gigs?

-Jaakko

I saw White Lion open up for Ozzy on the No Rest for the Wicked tour in '88, I thought Vito was pretty good that day :)

I also remember a very young Zakk Wlyde, I liked him alot back then had great stage presence :)

Yes, i saw them open for Ozzy. They got Booed at really bad and didn't go over well, and this is was at The Meadowlands NJ and they were from NYC. Someone threw an M80 onstage and at one point the entire PA system shut down for 80% of one song. It was interesting to hear just stage volume in such a big arena, i was halfway back and could barely hear them without the PA. Most of the crowd was chanting "Ozzy" through most of White Lions set.

That's interesting. How about Megadeth in the 80s? Could they put up a good show with their drug usage?

Dave has claimed that he has been "clean" / sober for a while now.. That's a lie. On Gigantour they had all these goofy rules about no one drinking / doing anything while Dave was in the room because he was trying to stay sober and he had his faith minister dude with him a lot of the time but he still was drinking / getting high all the time on the road.

actually my worst of the worst had to be twisted sister opening for maiden at long beach.

the drunken hessian next to me stood on his armrests and booed so hard between swigs of ripple from his boda bad that he vomited on the people in front of us, and fell on his face in the isle unconsious

metal
