Amps are cool and all but, my condolences on your loss. Family is where it's at.

I used to have a Tourmaster head (early one) which I loved the sound of but the power transformer went on it. Egnater did the right thing and repaired it, I just paid shipping (slightly out of the warranty period). Sold it to a friend and it seems to be going strong. Hopefully yours will be fixed and stay that way.

Hey guys sorry for the drop out been away for awhile.... Mom passed...

I have to say Nate took great care of me through it all. All issues fixed and then shortly after back playing Reverb Tranny went. I sent mine in he sent me one back although that took waaaay to long. Now for my next bad news. I have 2 4212's one for the road and one for the rehearsal and studio. number two blew a fuse last night so I changed the fuse removed the power tubes and clicked it back on....zzzzzrrrrrpppp and the fuse blew again almost immeadiatley. So looks like I will be calling Nate today for a new power tranny how frustrating with these things nice amp but all of the things people beat them up about has been experienced by me so can't blame the bad press. Just hope I get my Tranny covered so at least I can wave the flag for the service I get from them  ...the down time suuuuuucks!!!

Hi Robo .... My condolences regarding mom ... Been there too. :-(
The Power tranny should be free replacement. They know these were defective. They have been replacing them for each customer that experiences the issue. Mine was. Just FYI.
My word of warning though. That was the end of the sound I liked from this amp. Ever since, the sound has not been the same. I used to be able to crank it up and sound great. Now its just all mud when I crank it too no matter how i tweak it. :-(

I'm reposting this here where I really meant to - my other post started a new topic that won't make much sense out of context from what was said here...

Hi - was doing a search for info on the 4212 and saw this forum. Good enough that I decided to join!

Anyway, just wanted to add my 2 cent's about the 4212 issue of having channels going bad. I've got two of these (had one in the studio and wanted the exact setup at home so when I practiced I wouldn't have to carry the HEAVY Amp back & forth) and both had to go in for repairs. One of them had what sounds like the same problems others have talked about. Mine had channels 1 & 2 die - extremely low output and "tinny". Had it serviced at a local authorized repair shop and since it was out of warranty paid for it myself but it was less than $200 - I think around $150. Wasn't in a band at the time so the down time was just an annoyance but I AM bothered that both of my 4212s had to be serviced.

I love the tone of these things but I think they're made in China (don't remember where I got that from) and the quality control is unfortunate.

To delete a post, click the little blue "X" at the middle right of your post. Once a post has a response, the X disappears and you can't delete it. If you delete your second post, maybe the X will appear on your first post, I don't know. If I had responded to your other thread, you wouldn't be able to delete your post.

Thanks much for the help shimmilou. I'll get on it.
