I appreciated it. Fell asleep for a portion halfway through, but he clearly reiterated the recent history with the US and Ukraine from his perspective anyways, and I found it compelling. He comes across as very intelligent, sober, straightforward and measured. What did you think were “talking points”? …Can anyone imagine a US President giving what amounts to a half hour college level US history lesson on TV ? ? I agree it would have been better to make his points more brief and concise. But I think it could be cultural, in that Russians apparently value historical context and nuance, while Americans need 30 second sound bites. The interview was a nothing burger. The questions weren't interesting and Putin and his handlers are too out of touch to successfully manipulate the interview either way for a PR win. I think 90% of people that started watching it turned it off for being boring, rambling and filled with poor talking points instead of capitalizing on the opportunity to actually say what's going on, which is all Putin really needed to do.
I don't know what to think of Putin. On one hand, he's more intelligent than most of the world leaders combined, but the 45 minute history lessen leads me to believe he's SRM (stark raving mad.)
Keep in mind, he's an intelligence agent, more so than a president. But at least the guy is willing to talk. Biden don't talk. He's just a piece of shit talking head, that has ZERO interest in peace talks. Putin, to me, sounds semi-reasonable, enough so to want to at least talk.

He's an old skool trained KGB agent stuck in the past and very isolated & quite metal. Kills just to kill.
Everything you don't want a world leader with the top 3 Nuclear Arsenal.
Doesn't work & play well with others.
Still trying to put the USSR over the top in a world and by methods that don't exist anymore.
Russia has a long history of being invaded, most recently by the Nazis. It’s something we can’t relate to here in the US.To me the history lesson of the region puts the conflict into perspective a little. I was not aware of the ethnic history of the region, including the hunnish population. I think that the rooskies are overly paranoid about trying to control the invasion gaps. Who the fuck is going to invade or want to invade russia? Which is why they do not want NATO expanding. Then I think about the hawks and neocons in our government who want to keep us in constant conflict for that money....so I'm not really surprised by Putin's paranoia. Everyone is corrupt and innocents pay the price for it.
