Why do you think this? I’ve heard it but don’t see the evidence, other than the comment from the ‘90’s about the downfall of the USSR, which he has since appeared to contradict. It seems to me that people might be mistaking evidence of actual competency in statecraft and real leadership with some hidden designs or delusions of grandeur. Anyways, I could be wrong, but I don’t see it.

The Russians were worse than the Nazis. They killed more under Stalin and invaded Eastern Europe just like the Nazis.

The alternative to Nazism is open borders - so pull down your wall and let those central and south americans flood in. Suckers.

The thing that defines these people is that they don't offer reasoned argument, and when challenged they just resort to name calling. The NPC phenomenon exists on the left and the right. They are automatons.

It's the ideology. And when Putin starts espousing it I'll call it out. But a Russian isn't necessarily a commie just like a German isn't necessarily a Nazi. But you know what? There are actually real life modern day Nazis in Ukraine and the US and probably Australia is arming them.
