Uberschall vs Aldrich Clip

Bogner wins to my ears .
BUT, I like compressed gain.

Cameron is darker in the mids but I bet it would cut well on stage or with greenbacks (dont know what cab you used)

i love Cam's, not really a bogner fan though but the uber definitely wins here.

I can tell my tastes are changing. While both amps sound plenty good for what they are doing, I tend to gravitate towards less compression, more articulation, and more string separation these days.

There are a few Cameron clips floating around where the amp is dialed in with a bit less everything and I when I listen to them, I can feel my right hand reflexively reaching back for my wallet. I get the hype.

The Uber is Much better here. I remeber playing an Uber back in 03 or 04 & it was sick! wish i could of bought that amp.

That's got to be the best sounding Uber I've heard to this day!
Now I get it why you didn't wanna keep the Aldrich. I would not keep it either, if that's how it sounded through my cabs!
I shall thank that Uber for kicking that Aldrich out of your stable! lol

Bogner sounds better for sure.
However the Bogner is in it's happy place the Aldrich not so much.
I tbink it depends on what you are trying to get.
A Helios and an Aldrich would be a good compare.

Both sound great; Uber has a touch more clarity but the Aldrich has more cut. If the one Uber I tried in a store sounded like that I would have left with it.
Nice work Blake!

The Uber imo killed the Aldrich in this clip. It reminds me of my experience AB’ing my Rev 1 Uber to other amps. It’s kind of an illusion since it seems like a darker amp on its own, but then AB it with others (even my Marshall’s) and it can be surprising. I think it’s maybe because Bogner’s don’t go for a harsher or sizzly type sound, so I don’t always realize how much cut is there

Most of these modded Marshall’s tend to be the opposite illusion. They seem very impressive on their own, but then when directly compared to a lot of others amps can actually sound distant and darker than expected

Def the Uber . I love the ccv from what I’ve heard but Aldrich has never appealed to me

I hate to say this but the Aldrich sounded kinda dull, not like other Aldrich's I've heard in past clips. Usually Cameron Aldrich's have alot of aggressive cut and bite yet still retain clarity while providing some tight low end punch.

The Uber does have a more compressed gain attack to it which is what Bogner is famous for but the massive lowend came through alot more with the Uber in your recording chain.

Great comparison video! Thanks!:2thumbsup:

I’ve owned a ccv and Aldrich mod at the same time. They are kind of polar opposites IME. Really I think the CCV’s sound and feel very different than all his modded Marshall’s I’ve had and tried

It sounds to me more or less like the other early Uber’s I’ve played. He dialed it in similar-ish to me (having the ch volume higher and global volume lower is very important imo). My Uber Rev 1 also kicked some killer amps outta my stable
