Update on the COD+!

so..........I'm confused, since ive been an acoustic player for over 30 years and I plug an electric into a Cod+, i'm not gonna sound any closer to an electric guitar tone?

(Actually, I do sound like an acoustic guy trying to play electric) (BUT IN A ROCKING EGNATER kinda way)

Ok so what I am going to do is add a push button on the mids...out its COD in its less mids.

Is this push-button mid control only available on the COD+ (i.e. more gain), or with the regular COD as well? I have a regular COD, but would prefer to have this type of push button mid control. Can it be added to mine (or can I swap for one that has it), but not get the added gain? I prefer my COD with just the amount of gain it has now. PM me if that works better. Thanks Jeff!

Sure, just not sure if we have the time to do it. Let me check and see if it can happen.

Jeff, in terms of gain, where does each channel of the COD+ fall in comparison to other mods? It would help. There has been so much discussion of what the new one is in comparison to the first one and without having heard either it's tough to assess.

So knowing that Channel B is the higher gain channel, is it more gain than say, the SL2? EG3/4? And then where would channel A fall?

Thanks.

Dave

Hey guys, did this ever happen? The COD+?

I have been looking for a tight heavy tone that borders on the Dream Theatre tone and am thinking the EG5 may be the closest I'll get.

I think the key to achieve "the" sound is the mids, instead of scooping them I would add more...If you ever heard a Mark IV in front to you all you hear is Mids...So my advice is to fine tune that mid section...

Then after that, is that you'll add the V scoop switch you thought about. For those who want the same sound but with a V scoop EQ on it. (Sort of turning on the EQ on the Mark Series)

JP uses (or used) the Steve's Special pup, which has already a Mid scoop on it, you plug that in to a Mark which has a mid hump sound...you get a balanced sound.

Please post clips so we can help you fine tune it...

I thought Jeff said they would release one?
He did before he said it would need another board :thumbsup:IMHO the Cod doesn't need to be upgraded they just need to start from scratch and build a Higher G one :D
