This video makes me miss my Jem a little. That switch position (neck/middle position) gives some absolutely beautiful clean tone out of Jems.

I am not usually a Carvin fan BUT I have to say I think they have plain knocked it out of the park on this one .
3 channels, verb ,boost and a High gain stage voicing that the original was missing , Master , power 15/50/100 El34/6L6 bias switch
like seriously I don't think they have missed a trick in this puppy and Made in the USA
Some Bogner Flavor there for sure .
Did not expect to like it but ,cool amp .they should be proud

Sounds like they fixed the mistake in legacy 2 by not having a lead channel.
Looks like a good amp.

Like carvin or not they have really been listening to their customers lately starting with the V3m last year. Adding the Floyd option to the regular bolt. Bringing back the 2x12 vertical cab. Adding reverb to the V3 although I think it needed a real redesign. Now the legacy III which has everything that was asked for except the 1x12 combo but that may be in the works now.

not a huge fan of the tones, but definitely the best looking legacy. The product whore in me loves the amp color led switching between clean/crunch channels!

pretty cool for the money , it's great to see an artist actually demo his/her signature gear and stand behind it

his jemini distortion demo was hilarious

Now he "doesn't need a distortion pedal..."

Man when he was on channel 2......I could watch him all day.
Love his playing.
My thoughts exactly. I was trying to see what my daughter was doing while he was talking and when he went to channel 2. I stopped and thought man that sounds clear, has "confidence gain" as he showed buy doing some licks while doing what matters to me playing chords! Both sounded great! Channel 3 bet it sounds better in person.

WOULD

very interesting and sounds great, especially at that price and the size it is. Would easily make a killer backup to my Budda and still portable enough to take as a spare to gigs. Hmmmm.........

I like the sound, I like the smaller size....i get a little tired of all the symbols on his stuff....pyramids/eye etc.....I'M NOT STARTING A DEBATE ON WHAT THEY MEAN lol....it just gets old looking at it to me...It is his signature gear so I get that...I like it a lot sans the symbols...kinda reminds me of Prince when he changed his name to a symbol one time LOL

"it puts it on top of the band, which is where a guitar player belongs" when talking about the boost.

I agree it sounds pretty cool but kind masked behind the effects.

There's reverb and delay, but that's not a harmonizer on the fx, that's technique- whammy bar and pinky slides
My buddy has the first Legacy and the lead tones are smooth and organic, great sustain. SV mentions if you like playing leads/melodies all day, this won't cut your head off- that's totally true for the Legacies

Damn it, I miss my Jem & UV

Is anyone thinking of getting one? I was thinking about a 50w 5150III but now I'm having second thoughts. I guess it doesn't hurt to try one and if not return it.

The amp sounds good. Looks like a good deal for the price.
Edit: noticed Vai said the amp means he won't be needing his distortion pedal anymore.

I'd way get one of these over the 50w 5150III. But I really am not a fan of the looks. I do love the features and price though.

Damn... I didn't want to buy anything new this year cuz I have several half finished projects I want to complete, but this amp is giving me GAS!

Off-topic: After hearing the channel 2 demo I'm fairly certain it's not 4 12's in that cab, but more along the lines of a full-range cab like 1 x 15 + 1 x 10 (or 12) + bullet tweeter. I remember on one of his old demos he almost pulled the grill panel off one of his cabs, then thought better of it, claiming "secret sauce" in there.

Thoughts?
