Man I'll get torched but I'll say it anyways. Great for the price, sounds good but even with Vai playing it ....still sounds kinda weak and thin. I dont hear shimery at all...

Is anyone thinking of getting one?

I'm gonna wait until a few people get them and post some videos... I wanna hear what all it can do with a more metal style setup/playing.

I like the sound, I like the smaller size....i get a little tired of all the symbols on his stuff....pyramids/eye etc.....I'M NOT STARTING A DEBATE ON WHAT THEY MEAN lol....it just gets old looking at it to me...It is his signature gear so I get that...I like it a lot sans the symbols...kinda reminds me of Prince when he changed his name to a symbol one time LOL

For my part, I'd rather have symbols than names and/or initials. Like the 5150iii... good amp, hate the EVH logo. I'm not Eddie and I don't want to be.

But I'm not a fan of the symbols either.

Yeah I am going to wait till Dave (just42dave) gets one so I can save a few bucks   Just messing with you Dave…. I get first dibs, OK?

I've heard from another site that this Legacy III has the same 1st and 2nd channel as the original Legacy I and the 3rd channel is just channel 2 with a high gain switch.

Anybody else hear this?

To me, in the video demo it looks like he's only got channel 2's gain on a bit less than halfway and seemed to have more gain than the Legacy I is capable of.

Is anyone thinking of getting one? I was thinking about a 50w 5150III but now I'm having second thoughts. I guess it doesn't hurt to try one and if not return it.

I'd way get one of these over the 50w 5150III. But I really am not a fan of the looks. I do love the features and price though.

Glad I am not the only one who doesn't dig the looks. Just not that into the whole 'lunch box' look, I would rather have it with a wood headshell. I do like the small size, just not the lack of a wood head shell. I have seen those Orange Tiny Terrors put in a wood headshell and they look so much better to me.

Ugly amp covered in weird graphics or not. This seems like the perfect amp for a bedroom player like me. Can scale down to 15 watts. 3 channels. Effects loop. And more Decent price IMO.

it's great to see cool, new stuff come out in the sub $1000 range.

i called Carvin and he said it wouldn't start shipping until March 15th...and that's the orders that are being filled now.

I've owned the original Legacy twice... both times it drove me crazy with how dark the lead channel is. They seemed to have fixed that problem with this version. Channel two sounded killer. I may have to try one of these once they have been out for a while. My first Legacy was one of the first 200 made, and came with a few bugs...

Under 1000, MIDI, power scaling, 3 channels, boost, reverb, rack mountable, lighter...

WIN.

It's almost like this takeaway joint down here... You can get a large chicken, 2 salads, 2 soft drinks and a bottle of wine for 11.50. And it's all great quality too.

But the snob within stays away. So I will get sushi and a Fuchs :)

I don't know about the amp, but the video shows that a great player sounds like himself whatever the gear he plays.

This is so Steve Vai!!!

Got a chance to listen to the demo. Judging from the demo, I loved channel 2. Channel 1 and 3 were okay, they didn't go much for me in that clip.

There is a second video posted now but still doesn't show the amp.

Vai using, or at least it is on op of his Axe II Legacy 3

I think he is secretly plugged into that EVH on the other side of stage. :D
