Once you have a formal complaint legitimizing the accusation, take it to Paypal. Sometimes that alone will get you an exception on refunding charges on gift/FF payments. You also have a much higher chance of this succeeding if you call them.

same thing for the 1099k ill get from reverb - so i can only sell stuff on reverb thst i bought there to prove sale price unless i have independent receipts.

look id love to be wrong but my cpa has been adamant about it as my music gear is hobby equipment. in fact i REALLY hope to be wrong as i have a ton of shit in my office id love to sell but i wanted to get past the first year of this new law.
id love more details as an excuse to go to a different guy after 25 years,,,

I've had times when I've made an income from music, but other times just a hobbyist. You are not a hobbyist when you are participating in commercial transactions, which is what they are when using commercial services to buy and sell, which is why it is subject to 1099, even if it's personal gear for hobby. I've had three different tax preparers over 25 years, and it's never been an issue.

using standard paypal, BY DEFINITION, is a commercial transaction, because it is an exchange of goods or services, Fatbagg. er.... MusicIsLife
(as per my cpa - i reserve the right for him to be an incorrect asshole)

Funny how you guys can be paranoid of a new member who's just here to participate in the discussions, but somehow didn't know to be paranoid of a guy who seems to habitually rip you off. It's okay, I've got a thick skin. I'm not going anywhere.

My buddy had a Bogner that looked exactly like the red one, it was the one Vai used to track Alien Love Secrets with, he just sold it about a year ago. I wonder if this douche got it? I’ll hit him up to ask him, he might have some details that could help someone.

He bragged about that, yes it’s the same one. He’s since sold it again - it was also a part of a large scam he tried to pull off but got caught if my memory serves me

I thought that too, but I think it was his 100B he did that on. He tried to sell that 100B to me as well but I found out on my own he hadn’t owned it in over a year when he was pulling that. I tell about it in the original Fatbagg thread
