I know..... But I can't find any Diezel Tech, any Diezel Dealer, that is a real problem...

try send the channel insert sends one by one to another poweramp and see if it is still wrong. don't forgert the load (speaker) for the vh4s-powersection.
what happens?

and then put your guitar into vh4s amp in and connect the thru on the front to another pre- and poweramp and check the signal on the external rig (pre- and poweramp) to see if the input-jack of the vh4s is broken.
what happens?

OK, thank you Peter, but I can't make 1200km for an amp........ I think it is easy to understand. Well, I try to find someone, but that's not easy. Well, when it will be repared, bye bye Diezel... Too hard to find dealers & technicians, that's a real problem.

Not to be rude, but it seems like the issues started when you used a preamp through the effect. It's possible that you
damaged the amp, but you have not changed power tubes yet either. Everyone here has been trying to help you but it's never
a good enough suggestion to try. Send the amp to Diezel Gemany and get on with it.

The facts that the damages come from the preamp plug appears to me as an evidence, but I'm not an electronician.

I've changed power tubes friday, left channel doesn't work anymore... I've tried with brand new tesla EL34, and JJ EL34 which amplify my VHT 2/50/2 poweramp : left channel is just...dead. I've changed speakers jacks, instrument jack, powertubes (which are all perfectly working in my VHT 2/50/2).

I don't think all Diezel Amp users are professionnals, I'm not. A safe shipping for the VH4S (more or less 30kg I think) is very expensive (I've asked professionnals, nearly 200€), in addition, this cost doesn't take in account the reparation to come.

So, if I have to loose 500 or 600€, which is more than 1/4 of a used VH4S... I won't keep my Diezel.

A sound ingeneer (bulid his own monitoring amps and tube voice preamp etc...) I know will look at my VH4S, as soon as repaired, I'll sell it, just too hard to repair, not a question of sound.

A few day after buying this VH4S (used but just revised), the head had problems quite similar ; I've changed the powertubes and it was OK. So I'm a bit tired of this head, I don't say this is a recurrent problem ; but I need a local specialist for my guitar amp.

Thanks for your precious help ! ;)

This still sounds to me like misuse of the amplifier from the Recto Preamp. Please don't blame Diezel and Company
for what has happen to the amp while in your possession and from your use.

It may only be that you blew a screen grid resistor on one side of the power amp.

For 12 Years I have used a VH4 as it was intended and I have not had one problem with all four I have owned
in that time.

It seems like I'm not clear (and my english so bad...) : I don't say Diezel products are bad amps, but no-one can repear in the nearest towns around : I will probably find someone who can do it, but for me, not a professional, I can't do 1200km for an amp repair, Diezel, Bogner, Mesa or what you want, I think it is easy to understand...

And yes MARK2C, one more time, the problem came after connecting the preamp. Thanks for this new information, so...

Billy,

we try to help You out but it´s difficult for me
to solve the issue without having the amp on
the work bench.

I gave You the address of our distributor in
France. Maybe Henri knows a tech in Your area.

If You find a tech, I will assist and help.

Best regards,

Peter

I understand (the fact that it is difficult to know what are the causes of the cracks and channel "dead"), and today I've found a independant technician who build and sell his own tube amps, I give him the VH4S next week. Let's see

Well.

My VH4S is back home. Problem? broken solderings... So... :2thumbsup:

I plug my guitar, and endly ear clear channel, :cheers2:

BUT ! I can't anymore change channels with my footcontroller... (this is a Behringer FCB1010)

I've tried several time to program program change, it doesn't work...

Too hard to find dealers & technicians, that's a real problem.

But how many companies will have the owner come on and try to give you some advice on diagnosing the problem?

answer: Not many.

It's like an exotic. They don't break often and when they do, they can be fixed with a competent tech and Papa Diezel would go so far as to assist the tech.
Can't beat that.....

:)

Program the amp to omni mode and check the Behringer

 Well... That what I've thought about after asking... Hum...

200€ seems way too high. Even with UPS it would be more around 50€-60€.

Check prices with GLS or DHL, and just skip the insurance. If there is an issue the shipping companies make loads of probems, you won't get your money anyways most likely. I'm sure there is a way to ship it for like 30€.

Thanks ! I didn't asked UPS, why not. I need a fly-case, I will never send this amp (or an other) without flycase, ship is too dangerous.

I've found a professional tube amp builder to repair it, cool, Peter Diezel and Diezel french dealer are so far...

Now the cracks & sound cuts problem is OK, soulderings were broken...
