Why won't it? I have an old MOTU 828...the original version. I'm not really up on the latest stuff.

Wow! The Sig-X is just kicking all kinds of ass in every recording I've heard. That's my next amp!

It says the 2408 is audiowire and not Firewire. Does that sound like the same thing to you? It uses a pci card to plug into the pc. The plug looks more like a big USB thing I think.

Hey Dale, I just got a Mac Book pro! 2.4 7200 rpm, still trying to figure it out, but its pretty cool!

Ahhh ok. Yeah, they are two different things. You'll need something that uses either your firewire, usb, or expresscard slot, and not a pci card.

Great clips!!!! Sounds good to me! There is something I hear in all of the SigX clips so far that seems "different" for VHT. I've owned two different 50CLs, an Ultra-Lead, a D120, and now a D60 and this SigX has something different going on. I'd say maybe more compressed or saturated? Do you hear that too or am I crazy

I hear it too, I've always liked VHT, but the dryness, always bugged me, that why I never really bothered with them, but I'll admit, I'm GASsin pretty hard for this one.
It is different. I dont get the dryness comments, if you like reverb use a processor. :)

No the "signature VHT sound" has this dryness to it, EXTREMELY tight, etc... I didnt mean that it a bad way, just not the "saturation" (I guess is the word...... I suck at describing these things.  ) that most other stuff has.....

FTR, I HATE Reverb. :D

Between this and that randall pwnts MKIVs thread and hate reverb you are no longer valid here

great clips George! How do you like it compared to the other VHT amps? How does it play (is it stiff or smooth)?

Thanks! Its has more sag than the UL or CLX. Alot more thickness / saturation. I liked my UL alot, it was a very big/clear sounding amp. I never found it hard to play on. I think most guys would swear the SIG X has el34's in it. This would ba a great gigging amp for me! :)

There sure is. I haven't even been paying attention to that stuff for a long time. I'd defer to Ed D. or Bob or somebody on that question.

Some of tonse in there I liked some were not quite there for me but I have no doubt I can make sound like I want because I can tell the core of what I look for is there.

That said...... just let me say OMG George you smoke man. Some great great playing in those clips. :rawk: The amp isnt going to know what to do once my shitty playing starts hitting it. :D
Yeah, Todd there is a ton of range to the eq, I just like to leave it in the middle to have a basic ballpark reference. With all those modes and boosts, there was enough to mess with in the short time I had with it. :) Thanks again for letting me check it out.

BTW: We ended up with about a foot of snow! How did you fair?

No problem on the checking it out front. I know if I were in your shoes Id want to check one out and I wasnt sure if anyone who had ordered the other two you got were wanting you to get them right out and since I could wait I thought you would like checking it out so I did what I would like somone to do for me. Anway we only got about 3 inches of snow. Watch.... my luck is the amp is still stuck at the UPS hub in Ohio under the foot of snow.

Very Cool George!!. I played the Sig-X at NAMM for a while after Steve F. Demoed the amp for me an Ivan for about a half hour. I guess I had about 1/2 hour demo and 1/2 hour of me playing on it. To me it was definitely a cross between a UL and a Deliverance. It did not have as much gain as an UL but it had more gain on tap then a deliverance. I actually enjoyed playing the amp but it did feel stiff to me but that's only because I usually play on the boogies which have the sponge factor in spades. There are a lot of tones in this amp and the price is killer IMHO.
The thing that I did notice is that it had a Marshall type vibe to the amp when you cranked the hell out of it. It seemed to have that poweramp saturation/sound that Marshalls do when cranked and I will definitely echo what George said that the amp sounded like it had el-34's in it. I dug this amp way more then the deliverance but in all honesty, most people who don't dig VHT's will still probably hate this amp.

I agree. VHT's kind of have their own tone and a tight feel depending on the model. It seems people either hate them or love them. Doesnt seem to be much in between on the love/hate of the VHT. That said I didnt find the Dleverance to be near as tight as the UL's. They to me are a good mix of classic tone with a touch of that VHT modern tightness.

Thanks for checking it out Ralph. I wish I could have had a good demo of the amp. There are so many ways to set it up. It took me about 6 months with the UL to settle down with what I wanted out of it. I have no doubt with some time on this, there will be some killer tones!! I did notice alot more gain with the knobs past three, I just dont use that much. Too bad there wasnt a D412 handy!

Nah I think your amp made it out just fine. It didnt really start up until pretty late for us. My Mom and sister etc were coming back from Myrtle Beach Sat morning. They ended up staying somewhere for the nite and made it back today. Columbus got alot more than we did!

Looks like they spent the weekend in Ohio. Mine left Middleburg Heights this morning. Still on track for a 3/13 delivery though.

Just gave a deposit on a Sig X. According to George, I have a spot on the second SigX run.

That sounds really good! I dig it more than the Ultra Lead judging by those clips.
