Vonbonfire the blues legend

Beg to differ mate.

Listen to the 1991 album Tribal Tech (my favourite of theirs).
I got really into HSW Tribal Tech Tones back in the 90's. Snake Soda was my favorite cut. Smokin' record. But the stuff don't go nowhere. It's three dudes blowing their horns and little else. Doesn't mean the chops aren't amazing but that isn't why I listen to music. I have seen Wooten live with his brother Reggie....they had a theremin up there. Fun show but not anything that noteworthy and theremins are retarded. I preferred Branford Marsalis with Jeff Tain Watts on teh drums because Tain is the man. His own record is better than most of Branfords stuff IMO.

I'm not talking about Tribal Tech Tones 'though.

Here's Tribal Tech's discography. I highlighted the one I recommended:

Spears (1985)
Dr. Hee (1987)
Nomad (1990)
Tribal Tech (1991)
Illicit (1992)
Face First (1993)
Primal Tracks (1994)
Reality Check (1995)
Thick (1999)
Rocket Science (2000)

To say the tracks on the 1991 album "go nowhere" couldn't be further from the truth, as I think you'll agree once you listen to it. The journeys of the tracks are sophistimacated and their execution deft, sensitive and articulate.

As I suggested, it's a brilliant album. IMHO.

Well, I was talking about the Henderson Smith and Wooten album but ok. I'll check it out when I get a chance based on your recommendation. Just don't be mad at me if my opinion doesn't change. I'll go in with an open mind but I am looking for compositional excellence, not hot licks.
