If I went to Hollingshead, I would sit next to Steve....he is nicer.

...and considerably drunker if Friday was any indication... Sheesh... I was blistered... no more 9% Belgian beers...

Steve

LOL those were 9%?

As a matter of fact, yes, they were...

Hopefully, I'll be more coherent the next time we hang out...

You guys weren't incoherent, lol. Great beer though, do you remember what it was called, I think it was "tripel" something?

Other than the possibility of one other time when I was hanging at Steve's pad, I've never seen him as smashed as he was when I dropped him off. I think the beer and sake at Tommy's is what took Steve out.

I don't remember what that beer was called, but it was indeed a triple/tripel.

HA! Coulda been... I can say that I remember very little of the ride home and it is probably best that it stay that way. I hate being reminded of the stupid things one says and does when one is plastered. :)

Things seemed fine until about the last third of the Tommy's visit where things get very murky for me. As long as I'm still allowed in the place, I'll be happy to leave it that way... :hys:

I don't remember the name of the beer either, but it was tasty and dangerous at the same time...

Steve

If you wouldn't have said it was a POD, i am sure 99.9% of the people here would think it was tube.

Sounds great

uh.......that wasnt Van Halen, just some backing Track with vocals. That definetely WAS NOT DLR..... :D

All of you guys saying you can tell it is digital... It sure is easy when someone tells you upfront that it is a PODXT, huh?... On the MetroAmp forum the guy who did this clip didn't tell what it was at first and those guys, who will change a resistor based on a single clip, were freaking out over this clip. The first "sounds digital" post didn't come until people knew what it was...

Just sayin'...

Steve

I won't play 'guess the amp' anymore...it's too hard nowadays. But POD or no, I would say that it doesn't sound very good on the turned down parts. Then again, neither does the original recording, IMO...

That is the crutch of Line6 stuff, the lack of dynamics with the fiddle volume.

That said I have a XT Pro and love it for what it is with a VHT 2/50/2 and I think the clip rips. Steve should have posted PM clip ;)

hell yea, would've fooled me if he hadnt said what it was, kudos to the guy who recorded it.

There was a halfrack Multifex unit that Yamaha put out @ 1990 that could do the EVH VH1/VH2 tones. Problem with that unit was the same as the problem with the POD, there's no interaction with a processor in the same way that there is with an amp with the power section running in full overdrive. --That being said, the Line 6 collaboration with Reinhard Bogner looks promising.
