Thing is I have seen Kage just fucking go off on a few people and he gets quite personal. There may be some back story, sure, but he does not take the high road like he claims to over and over and over. Then if you disagree with him on some major issues he calls you an uneducated idiot living with your momma or something similar.

I can't comment completely because I don't follow Kage around on everyone of his threads. But there is some truth to what you are saying. However, my point was simply that Ralph and Kage aren't in the same category as Carl. Ralph is a true gentlemen that has always been respectful. Kage, well, in general, I don't see him starting up shit. But yeah, he's not going to back down if he has a strong opinion especially if someone comes after him.

No, I totally agree. Im glad im not an admin right now because it is a very tough choice to make. I mean this forum WAS founded on the idea that we are all adults and can self-moderate ourselves. That includes using the ignore list or whatever. But then Carl, he goes so far over the top its hard to self-moderate. But it can be done, at least I think so.

Still the banning issue... its a hard one. And although Kage seems to think its all about other peoples POV, he really means we should all agree and ban Carl. The issue is not an easy one.

The other point I want to make is blaming Thump (and/or) Bob Savage is dumb. They own the board but are not moderating it like HCAF. I really appreciate that.

Seriously guys, I realise I dont know the full situation, and i'm not a "respected" member here, but this has to stop.

This place is getting torn apart for the most stupid reasons. Thump, I respect you a lot, you give great advice gear wise, and it's pretty damn obvious that you care a lot about this forum. I believe deep down, we all do. This place was created because HC became a complete and utter shithole. The rate at which we're going, this place is going further and further that way.

This forum was a pretty tight knit group of lads who were very happy to give each other advice, critique each other's mixes, and generally have a good laugh about gaming, sport, and some funny shit on the web. It was fine and dandy until (and I appreciate I dont know the full side of things, but from what I can tell, the vile crap that comes out of his mouth warrants this alone) carl came back.

Losing two great guys is not worth it.

to use a cooking analogy, if you put an ingredient into a recipe and it ruins it, take it out. I hope the point has been made right there.

I don't know. To me it's pretty cut and dry. I started on HC back when I was in college in '96. I knew back then that Carl was a first class asshole. In the past, almost, ten years the guy has not changed.

As far as POV goes, it's about considered other POVs not forcing his onto anyone. You know, if the shoe was on the other foot. If he was really trying to force it, then he wouldn't have said in a PM that he was leaving. It's clear that others disagree so that's all there is to it.

Because this is what it is, a gear forum. If people want to settle personal issues, do it outside the forum. And it's the same with off-topic threads, they should be in the off-topic area: if you want to talk about your new gun, take it to the off-topic forum. Steve, You know I love ya but.... When Thump did decide to let Carl back there were A LOTof people here who DID NOT want him back and DID say so. Thump ignored them. Some people even gave Bob a hard time even though he was dead set against letting asshole back in here.
When Carl posted his bullshit apology I read some nice things that people were saying and they also mentioned that they did not want Carl here. I read that and figured that if that wasn't enough for Thump not to let Carl in they why shul dI say anything?
