Have heard a few songs and I must say they sound GREAT!!!

I gotta try and get the entire show.

I truly hope that they film this and release a Live DVD. It would be utter stupidity not to IMO...

that page is getting slammed harder than Brittney Spears at a Madonna concert.

You know, I gotta say - I just listened to those clips and watched that crappy youtube camera phone video, and all I can say is FUCK YEAH

All the "where's Mike Anthony" detractors aside - I can't imagine how insanely cool it is for Wolfgang to be playing with his Dad, and for Eddie to look over and go "yeah, that's my kid"

That band is rocking. Period.

I gotta figure out tickets for Portland

well i just bit the bullet and scored 2 tix for Dec. 20th at anaheim pond.

i figure i never got a chance to see the roth era VH when they were my favorite band of all, so i got a second chance!

taking my boy for a father/son deal....he's been begging me!

Damn it's good to hear them in top form. Eddie looks about 100 times better than he has in years, too.

Wolfy seems to have the backing vox covered nicely too!
Apparently thats what he practiced most during the last
few months...

I'm going this Sunday night in Toronto.

The only thing disappointing to me is that Eddie's playing doesn't seem much different than his sober nights from the last tour. Few and far between as the sober nights were....

His style of the last ten years or so just doesn't hit me like he did 20 years ago. At least he dumped the sustainer, I guess.

But I take back what I've said about Wolfie, he seems to be kicking ass.

I actually think that he sounds terrible. I really dig the tone but I never saw Eddie miss so many notes and play so badly other then the 94 shows. That said, Im sure it's just because he hasn't touched his guitar in a long while and he has the jitters but so far, I think his playing is sub par. Id love to hear some more clips later on in the tour but for now... he doesn't have it together and even though I am a HUGE fan I will not let my love for the Band cloud my judgement. What Im hearing is pure crap IMHO. I don't care if Eddie is past his prime or any of the many excuses I have been hearing on many of the boards. I know the man is capable of playing better and Im possitive that he will play much better later on after the ring rust has cleared!!

I hope so! Won't hold my breath. I'd rather hear a new album, anyway. Hearing the old tunes with DLR singing is great, but without the effortless off-the-cuff type of playing that used to be there, they just aren't as cool.

And it seems like it's really time to retire the long solo spot. No shame in that. Clapton at 60 isn't the same as Clapton at 20, either. But yet he's been continually successful. Or look at Hagar. He's shaped his career to fit his current strengths and by all accounts, the guy is living it up in every sense of the word.

Boy do I hear you!
That said, I really think that he can pull it off because there are moments where I'm like he is almost there ! I agree about the solo spot. I don't think that he should shit-can it but a short version would be better IMHO.

On another note, Im not saying the EVH has to play like he was in his prime again, Im just saying that if he can't play that way then he should play more in context of what he is capable of doing at this point in time.(ala Clapton)

He needs Carl to come out and stunt double for him, play a "real blues" solo over a Trower backing track.
